Jimi is on a hot streak of ordering the clear best thing on the entire menu at any restaurant he goes to and the streak continues at Farm Bar when Jimi ordered the Kansas City Strip Steak. It has a maple brown sugar glaze that I assume came from God's sweat. Shoutout God. And the mashed potatoes let me tell ya. If they are bad for you then I don't want to be good. Shoutout the devil. God/devil damn that was a good meal. 5 stars

I had the classic burger, which was severely salty and came with fried Parmesan cheese flats that made just biting into this burger sharp and confusing. Drinks were good enough. The general pricing here seems unjustifiably high - basically $40+ for a drink and burger. The air conditioning also didn't appear to be on while we were there and my whole group felt like we were sweating. Service was good, but all the other issues make this a no-go for me.

The restaurant sneaks in an "inflation fee" on the check. I would have rated them better but I cannot stand places that do this. Service was good. Food was good. Why do they have to ruin it at the end?

Wooh! What a great addition to the Ravenswood neighborhood that's easily accessible. There is paid street parking or it's fairly accessible by the Brown Line. A friend and I went here for dinner and we definitely recommend making a reservation, otherwise you'll be waiting for such great food. One thing about this restaurant is that it's very tight knit and you're practically sitting on top of each other. When it comes to folk who have different physical ability levels or are of different sizes, I'm concerned about their abilities to sit comfortably in this restaurant. Our server was very knowledgable about cocktail and drink pairings with our food choices. I went with a cider and my friend had a cocktail (I can't remember the name) that was also very tasty. I'm pretty sure I could eat a gallon of those cheese curds and will make sure I order them every time I'm here. If you don't get them, you'll regret it! I chose the porkchop and was so impressed with the quality of the meat and its balanced flavor! Porkchops are tough to not make dry, but wow Farm Bar did a great job of making it just right. The pairing with the apple slaw and potatoes also enhances the flavor and textures of the food. I was also impressed with the portions for the prices of the food. Service was quick between ordering and getting our food. Hoping that there's an opportunity or two to sit outdoors to have a bit more breathing room when I'm back. I can't wait to try more of the menu and drinks!

Solid brunch option, and they take reservations to boot! Came here with a friend and we both enjoyed our food. Split the cheese curds as an appetizer-yum. The breading was very light; lighter than most cheese curds but I really like it that way so I enjoyed them. We both got the smokey croque for our meal. It's a looooooot of food but quite delicious. The potatoes that come with it were very good too-kind of heavy with such a heavy sandwich but flavored well. I also like the little salad that came with it. It was a nice touch of fresh for such a heavy, rich sandwich. Our server was great, attentive without hovering, and gave us recommendations on both food and drink. I tried the spiced cider to start (very good, but the garnish made it hard to drink, lol), and then tried one of their beer. My friend had two beers as well. The one downside: it is tight in there! We had a table for 2, and it was very small. I was also sitting 'out' in the aisle, and people kept bumping into my chair as they walked past (and I had my chair pulled in as far as it could go). Not a huge deal, but it was a little distracting in an otherwise great meal.

Not a Chicago native, but I come often to visit family. I do remember what Farm Bar used to be, but that will be a distant memory now that this restaurant and its great staff are here.It was a cold and rainy night that we ventured out.... 3 kids, grandma in tow... there was 7 of us. My sister made a reservation so the table was ready when we arrived. Our server Corrine was very attentive and also made great recommendations (pairings) for dishes and cocktails.I ended up going with the pork chop... it was ginormous and delicious. Corrine recommended a wine to go with the pork and it made it that much more tasty!Great specials, they source local (the pork chop came with apples sourced from a local farm). My only complaint is that my body couldn't try more dishes. They had some strong mushroom-forward specials that I wanted to try as well, but I'm sure we will be back to have great service and good food!

We came on a snowy evening. The restaurant is very distinctive looking from the outside and inside it was nicely decorated, but not very big. The night we were there, it was crowded and loud but not intolerable. Tables are packed closely together since it is a small place. We had reservations and I think you will need them to get a table. After a few minutes they found a free table and sat us near the entrance. They gave us paper menus. One side drinks and food on the other. We decided to have a bottle of Malbec wine. The menu has a couple for vegetarian and vegan options. We asked the waiter which dishes were best and he recommend the Pan Fried Maitake Mushroom for a vegetarian dish and for my partner he recommended the Fried Pork chop. We took the recommendations and ordered both. Our food arrived after about 15/20 minutes. The food looked very nice. My Fried Maitake dish was OK but lacked any texture. Just kind of mush. Needed acid or heat, generally did not have a distinctive flavor. I did eat it, so wasn't terrible, just not exciting. My partner had a different issue. He claimed his pork was under cooked. I know nothing about pork, but he claimed it was a "medium" cook. They took his meal off the ticket. When we arrived home I saw the receipt for the meal and noticed they overcharged us for the wine. It was 60 on the menu and 110 on the bill. I called them and they said they would fix it on my bill. They told me it was a system problem they had seen before. Overall, service was just OK, food was lacking, the atmosphere was crowded and tight. I could have ordered the wrong dish but for this price level, everything should have been amazing. It was far from that. I would have paid much more for better food. I'm sad it was so disappointing. Also make sure you check the prices on the bill before you leave. We did love the wine.

Let me start off by saying this was the BEST service we had post Covid! The cherry on top was the owner was present with helping his staff and he checked on everyone. Our waitress was fun and had a lot of great suggestions. The vibe is nice and causal too. This is what we ordered to drink:Their own ciders and both were delicious (Not sweet - just crisp like biting into an apple)Brown Old Fashion was very good Dinner:Appetizers Cheese curds was excellent Blue cheese dip and chips were good Main entrees Burgers with friesPork chopWhite fish with capers (I personally loved it but my daughter thought hers was a little too lemony)Dessert was the chocolate cake Fantastic Really everyone loved their dishesWe will definitely going back!Yes you can use my review!

One of my favorite restaurants opened a second location in Ravenswood...I'm so happy!! I've visited the space when it was Land & Lake, and while I loved the rooftop, the food was lackluster. Knowing Farm Bar (and their delicious menu) was taking over, I was super excited! We came on a Saturday afternoon for the brunch/lunch menu. We were greeted by the owner who was absolutely wonderful. You can tell he's very proud of the new space and the design -- as he should be! It looks beautiful. The food and service was usual Farm Bar quality. We started with the cheese curds (our favorite) and I ordered the BLT. The bacon was cut thick and cooked perfectly. The tomatoes which fresh and sliced thick. The potatoes on the sides were excellent too. Excited to come back for the dinner menu and check out the patio when it opens this summer!

Went for brunch and it was just MEH from a very limited menu. But also a super annoying, non customer centric vibe. * Absolutely NO paper menus. None! This went over like a lead balloon for my mom who is 88. I had to read the whole menu to her - who doesn't love that? * Come time to check out, oh yeah, that's on you! Yup, it's all digital through a QR code that you have to scan and figure out on your phone. Apparently they are too busy to take the time to take your credit card and check you out. * As if their prices aren't indulgent enough, they implement an "inflation fee" of 3% to offset rising costs to, get this, not have to raise menu prices. Ummm - you just did by 3% - but you are doing it in an underhanded way.* And on a pricing note, better bring cash or you will be subject to a credit card fee. I mean, come on! Credit cards are beyond the standard for payment processing in 2024 and your cost (What - 1.5%? 2.0%) should be built into your pricing model. Yeah - the very one you already jacked up by 3% with your "inflation" fee. Just another way to gouge the customer. Do you really think that you are that outstanding that you can take advantage of customers to this extent? Get over yourself.
