Succeeding based on location. Staff needs better customer service training. Excellent French bakery option for the eastside. Definitely higher quality than The French Bakery; alas, Bakery Nouveau it is not. Have eaten here a few times and the food is consistently good quality. On that same note service here is consistently bad/borderline rude. I am never going to a give a high review for places that request tip before service is complete. Don't get me wrong I always tip at least 15%, but will often tip 20 to 30% with good service. Requesting tip prior to service allows workers to behave rudely without impact as is the case I've experienced at this cafe. For example today I went in very early to avoid crowds and ordered a tartine and a loaf of rye bread. Instead of asking me a clarifying question the cashier mistakenly subbed the country loaf, which I was looking forward to, for rye bread on the tartine. Understandable error but it was handled poorly. When I got my order without the rye loaf, the woman who brought my order to me (and I was waiting outside trying to stay away from people due to an upcoming scheduled surgery) handed me my bag and walked away so fast I didn't get to ask her about the missing loaf of bread. I had to go back inside where they told me I didn't pay for it and had me wait in line again to pay for the bread. I tried to explain I was keeping my distance from other people and as the café had become extremely busy in the minutes I have been waiting for my food, I was waiting for the crowd at the registers to dissipate before coming to pay. The food runner was quite snappy with me and said "well do you just not want it then?". I explained again that I'm trying to keep my distance from other people and that yes I did want it. No apologies from the staff at all. And at that point I gave up even trying to get the tartine on the correct bread. I will never order in person again here if I even go back.

Reduced a star because of the serviceThey are absolutely rude and can't care less! I have never met a group of people with same no care attitude, standoffish and rude!Food is still greatThe French toast was disappointing! Still very pricy for what u get! Overall it's not what it used to be! 4 stars is generous, they are more like a 3 or 3.5

The ambiance was pleasant, but unfortunately, that was the highlight of my visit. The tables were not clean, which set a disappointing tone from the start. The food and drinks did not live up to expectations. I ordered a matcha latte, which was watered down and bitter, making it the most unpleasant matcha I've tasted to date. The salmon had an inconsistent flavor, with some parts tasting fresh while others tasted old. The waffle was dry and lacked flavor, and the croissant was not soft enough and had a flat taste. Lastly, the brownie was dry and stale, making it a disappointing end to the meal.

We came here for breakfast. The vibe is open and modern and it was very busy. We were we were able to order pretty quickly at the counter. They have a pastry case a wide selection of breads as well as a full page menu. I had the avocado toast which was called avocado toast tartine. It was delicious, topped with pickled onions and served with a choice of potatoes or salad. My husband had the eggs Benedict croissant, which had the same options for sides and he chose potatoes. I paid the price for choosing a light breakfast by being hungry a few hours later, but my husband's breakfast was very hearty. We will be back again!

I'd give 2.5 If I could, I really don't understand the hype over this place I've been here multiple times and every time It's equally been pretty meh. I've driven by this place many times and never not seen a line out the door, or waited less than 20 minutes for food or drink. This place is super tiny and crammed, and very overpriced for the food. There's never any available seats, meaning you almost always have to get takeout, and there's never anywhere to stand while waiting for takeout. Also never any parking, meaning you'll have a walk to get here. Once your order is ready, if they see you they bring your food to you, if not they quietly call your number to make sure you can't hear them. For this visit we decided to come by for lunch and as always it was packed. We ordered our food and after about 20-30 minutes we got it. All the food wasn't that great, the sandwich lacked flavor and the croissant was just okay. Surprisingly the eggs were cooked as I wanted, and the quality is of our food was decent. The only pasty I've tried here is their croissant and I see on reviews other pastries are better so I may give them a try. But overall I don't see the hype over this place and wouldn't recommend it.

Ok quick shoutout to this awesome, love em, love that they keep their fantastic standards high and love their pastries and coffee. Again you can tell the staff and manager take pride in what they do and what did you know we managed to grab a table looking out that lovely view (hence the napkins ) Always a fan.

Ordered a croissant and an americano. Croissant was flaky on the outside and tasted similar to croissant from Paris. I'll need to go back and try other pastries as all looked delcious. America I was served pulling hot and the servants were friendly. Farine's parking is limited and street parking is available. It's a small space and there are outside patios available. If you enjoy pastries and other baked goods, this is one of the best croissant options the east side. Bon appetite!

UPDATED REVIEW:Although I had my first impression, which you can read about below, I'd like to change the rating and share that after the incident the staff was very attentive and checked in on our table which changed our opinion about the bakery. They came to apologize and were showing effort to make the remaining of our stay better so I appreciate when businesses acknowledge when things happen and help solve any potential issues, thank you! "ORIGINAL REVIEW" Although pastries are great the customer service is lacking. On a rainy day a table outside was wet, when asked one of the staff to wipe it a young girl with curly hair came out, sprayed the table and wiped it leaving the table wet (see the picture of the table attached) so I had to go back to ask a staff member again and I felt like I was an inconvenience to them based on their reaction and unwillingness to help.If you have a toddler and you are by yourself just know that staff don't bring high chairs to the table and you have to grab one yourself which was challenging having to juggle my 16 month old with me while being pregnant and having to bring a heavy set of furniture across the bakery all the way outside.. but hey, there's nothing a mother can't handle :DFor that reason food is ok but ambience and service could be improved
