Amazing food, amazing people.The best cheesesteak in San Diego, bar none. I ordered via Uber Eats. Saw they had a special on instagram (bratwurst, absolutely amazing) that was not listed on the menu. I wrote in a special request for them to supplement a hot dog with the brat. Not only did they honor it, they called me and told me how excited I should be! Just great people overall. Thank you so much guys!

I met a friend here to catch up because she really likes cheese steaks and I love pastrami sandwiches so I was excited when I saw a place with great reviews that offered both.We got here a few minutes after they opened, but he got our sandwiches out pretty quickly, all things considered. My friend got a steak hoagie, while I got the pastrami bombie. We both loved our sandwiches - they totally satisfied our respective cravings. Great ingredients, great bread and a great value. They also have a big selection of drinks - we each opted for a Jones soda, but what was awesome was finding out that they'll specifically order unique flavors (I ended up getting a hatch chile and lime soda) just to give customers a chance to try flavors that they wouldn't find in stores, which I thought was really cool.Its always good when a restaurant lives up to is great reviews - can't wait to come back to try their Italian with a beer!

I had the urge for steak sandwich, and I went to one of my favorite haunts and as usual perfection. Cheese steak @ mushrooms, light onions (hopeless, romantic) provolone cheese Onion rings perfecto

Amazing food and relaxing, friendly atmosphere. The Philly sandwich was EXCELLENT, loved the house-made sweet peppers and mushrooms. Evan was delightful and overall just an incredibly positive experience. We will be back!

This is a real Deli. Evan is doing the lords work. He is making honest sandwiches for hard working Sandiagians. He's got a BLT on the menu! Not a "California BLT" but a true B.L.T.Evan has devoted his life to single-handedly improve the California sandwich landscape. California is a bounty in so many ways... but the sandwich game in this state is an embarrassment and Evan is here to correct things. I suggest stopping in for the Pastrami Bombie. Pastrami, slaw, Swiss, pickles and thousand island on a fine sub roll. It is transcendent. Don't sleep on this one... get your arse in your car and aim for Point Loma.

I had an amazing meatball sub here! The owner is very friendly and helpful, making sure we left completely satisfied with our food. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish, and I can't wait to come back. Highly recommended!

Loved the steak hoagie here. Very delicious and flavorful. The bread is perfectly crunchy and has a perfect amount of mayo. The steak was good quality and not too fatty or grisly. The fries were also crispy and delicious. The service was great. They had a huge order of 25 sandwiches that they were working on to get finished when we walked in and surprisingly we didn't have to wait that long for our sandwich to be made considering. There was just 2 of them but worked hard and were freindly. This was also less than an hour before closing and they both were great. I'd be back for sure. Really enjoyed this sandwich and service.

Order 50% wrong, the other half not good either. My friend picked me up the cheesesteak hoagie, which includes lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. Received just meat and bread. When I called the guy blamed someone else, "he always gets it right". He asked for the name on the order, what time the order was (um 10 minutes ago?) , my name, etc. Again mentioning they never make mistakes. He wanted me to prove it by taking a pic of it. Why? Well here it is! So hung up, to try to choke down dry sub. It gets worse, when we unwrapped the garlic cheese fries, lo and behold, missing the cheese. I called back, he was annoyed and defensive, said the cheese sauce is definitely in there, wrapped in foil." He put it in the bag himself. Really? Well it wasn't there. Anyone wanna make that third call? Not me. The fries we did get were wet & watery. The onion rings are soggy and mushy, the worst I've had in the Midway district. Also the burger was winning but meat had a weird flavor on the last couple bites. Nobody's perfect. Would have loved to hear "I'm sorry Sir, we screwed up and will take care of it immediately, and it won't happen again. We appreciate you trying us." Refund it in full, be done with it. Jump all over this stuff. Second star for seeming like a friendly neighborhood place.

My fiancé, sister, and I were searching for a great sandwich place. We love food made with love, so much more than chain restaurants like Jersey Mike's or Firehouse Subs. Upon entering Evan's Deli, we were immediately greeted by Evan himself, who was AMAZING.Evan provided us with awesome information about the popular items on the menu. While we were deciding and he was answering our questions, we grabbed drinks from the happy hour menu, enjoying wine and beer as we made our choices. I decided on a Pastrami sandwich with all the toppings, while my fiancé and sister both chose the meatball sub.The ambiance at Evan's Deli was really nice, with great selections and super clean surroundings. Honestly, we would have eaten there if we didn't have other plans at home.My sandwich was absolutely awesome! The pastrami was so flavorful, and the toppings, like lettuce and tomato, were cut just like how my family made sandwiches when I was a kid, giving me a great "Ratatouille-like" moment--it felt like I was biting into delicious nostalgia.I also HAD to sneak a bite of my fiancé's meatball sub, which Evan had suggested as a signature item. On the way home, we actually looked up pictures on Yelp and got even more excited. Without a doubt, it was the best meatball sub I have ever had, and I might get it next time! The meatballs were savory, the sauce was delicious, and the bread was absolutely perfect.10/10 would definitely go here again. The food, the people, and the prices were everything we were looking for and more!
