Man oh man. What a gem! Food was off the chain. We ordered the cheese enchiladas and the molcajete. The tortillas are handmade and definitely in the top 3 I've ever had. The beans and rice were just right. My husband said this was the best molcajete he has ever had. Chips were fire. Food was so good we only got a "during" picture.The waitress was kind and attentive. Checked on our table regularly.It's a very open space with a great selection of chill music. A must try if you are anywhere near Oceanside!

When looking for someplace new to celebrate a family member's birthday, I stumbled upon Evaga Lounge on Yelp and proposed it to the group and everyone was excited to try someplace new (to us). We called ahead and made a reservation just to be sure we'd get a table quickly seeing as it was a Friday night, and whoever answered the phone was friendly and assured us we were set for that evening. Upon arrival we were seated right away, menus brought to the table and drink orders taken. We ordered a variety of beers and house margaritas, all of which were well-crafted. We ordered a kid's meal right away (because if you've ever met a hangry toddler, you get it...) and took a little while to choose the rest of our entrees. I ordered tacos, my daughter had a quesadilla with beans and guacamole, and everyone else ordered different kinds of burritos. I failed to take any photos of the food from this visit but the consensus from the whole table was that Evaga will surely be a staple dining location for our family going forward.We visited again a couple weeks ago and the poor owner (I believe) was the only one working on the floor at that time of day. Fortunately he knows what he's doing and he was serving all his tables quickly and efficiently so no one was having to wait long at all. We again had a variety of different dishes and everyone was satisfied with their food. I will say the tacos this time around were just okay - we had ordered a carne asada, a pollo and an al pastor and they were a little lacking in flavor and toppings, but we still enjoyed them regardless. The al pastor burrito my brother-in-law ordered looked great. We will definitely be coming back again (and again...)!

Decided to try this little hole in the wall after reading the stellar reviews, and I'm so glad we did! We will definitely be coming here regularly after tonight. My husband and I both got margaritas. For food, I ordered the quesabirria tacos and he got the 3 taco plate. The margs were delicious, and the food was incredibly tasty and filling. From sneaking a glance at other people's plates, the burritos looked enormous too. Aside from the delicious cuisine, I loved the vibes. Reggae music gave this place a beachside feel. And I must also mention the attentive service. It was speedy and courteous. Something was incorrect with my husband's order that we brought to the attention of the server (who I believe was one of the owners). It wasn't a big deal and we were not going to return the food, but he insisted on taking it back to have it corrected which, in my opinion, was above and beyond exceptional service!Do not pass up on this place!! The vibes, the service, the food and drinks-- everything was done just right.

Sadly disappointed. Came on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar. Server said he was the only one working and that there were 3 tables ahead of us. Thought that was a little strange. Ordered a drink and asked for Forteleza Blanco or any other call Blanco and he said it would be a $40 upcharge. Maybe they have an exclusive deal with Califino as it was everywhere, but please, $40 is ridiculous. This place is in a strip mall east of the 5. I got the Califino Reposado drink and watched him pour blanco in it. Food was also a 2 star. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla from the surf and turf quesadilla (just minus the turf) and it had a Chipotle mayonnaise in it. My husband got the chicken enchiladas and a fish taco. So bland. No seasoning on the chicken, and really no flavor. The fish was super fishy, not in a good way and also bland. Sadly we were very disappointed in our whole experience here.

First time here, staff friendly....kinda has a sports bar feel to it. They offer taco Tuesday deals $2 tacos. I had a hibiscus margarita which was decent. I was disappointed in my fish taco as it had no flavor at all, it wasn't part of the taco Tuesday deal... so low key disappointed that I opted for it and turned out to be bland. Overall, decent place, I'd probably be back for drinks.

Found this restaurant while looking for a great seafood taco. Did not disappoint. Homemade tortillas, sauces and salsas. So good.

I'm going to put it 4.5 stars tonight.This was a huge improvement from the last time we went for dinner approx a month ago. I hadn't reviewed it then because I was so disappointed. Today I'm not disappointed. It is almost as good as the first day I had it. They added 3 game machines to entertain the children who come with their parents It's still a little empty today when we first arrived. And we were wondering If we were going to be disappointed like the last time. Today my hubby ordered a margarita and I ordered a gran taurino. I'm blown away by my drinks tonight. It's yummy! And had a cherry in it together with orange zest. It was wonderful with a large single ice cube. It looked very clear. - craft ice style. As usual, we got Chips and salsa. Today the chips were super fresh. In comparison to our last visit- this was very much improved And our bartender kept checking on us super nice touch. For food- my hubby got fajita and he loved it. For me, I got chupasedos and I loved it. It's a thin layer of rice with cucumbers and orange slices with tajin on it. The shrimp is wonderfully seasoned and cooked. My half star docked was for the freshness of the shrimps. It's was not the absolute freshest. My first shrimp burrito that I had the very first time had already set that standard for me. It was definitely good though. I cleared it off the plate.Overall, it has improved from my last visit. But is still not as wonderful as my very first visit!!Kudos to our bartender for the evening. I didn't get her name but she is very nice and very hospitable. She checked ok us every 5 to 10 minutes. I'm very impressed with her. We of course will be back again n again n again.

This place is the real deal. Good vibes. Expect some reggae music and beyond happy staff. Mike the owner is running around trying to make everybody's experience so they don't want to go anywhere else and I doubt I will. Carne Asada was tender. The beer is cold, beans and rice authentic and tasty. Ask for the handmade corn tortillas straight from Mexico. This is a one of a kind treat the guy behind me ate 9 of them. I'll be back for mostly nice people that actually care about what they do and take pride in it. They want to build relationships and put a little staple down in this community of Oceanside. It won't surprise me if this guy doesn't one day have the brightest corner in all of Oceanside. He's the guy that did it for someone else probably better than they're doing it without him. Come to Evaga and eat, guaranteed you'll be back. Ask him for the Wi-Fi and you can get some work done.

Came to visit Oceanside and was looking for somewhere to eat and came across this delicious family owned restaurant! The owner is very friendly The food is amazing! Highly recommended

Wonderful food and service was excellent. The food was so atheistic and drinks were delicious. Tortillas were homemade. We will be back for sure.
