I was walking around Newbury street and decided not to Yelp but to just try out a spot with a cute patio and boy was I in for a treat! The menu looked amazing and it WAS. It was French meets Mediterranean with a splash of coastal and the wine menu is VERY French. I was seated immediately in a quiet section with several booths on the entryway wall. The ambiance is gorgeous and the booths are definitely cozy but far enough apart to not feel like a cafe. The waiter greeted me immediately, gave an impressively thorough rundown on the menu and sold me on the lamb chops. Sue me, I love lamb. So it was lamb and Syrah, which is hard to find and high key my favorite red!!! The one was PERFECTION. The lamb chops though?!??? I was ready to jump up and down in my seat. A happy dance does not do credit to what I WANTED to do with a single taste. First of all, there were three chops- fresh, well cut without a ton of fat, but lamb is lamb, and seasoned well but not over-seasoned thankfully, because the couscous was DIVINE. I've had couscous in many preparations, but never like this! Spicy, creamy, tomatoey, and the absolutely perfect seasoning foil for the lamb. The broccolini, which I typically love, though, was meh. The stalks were thin, but incredibly fibrous, making them very nearly inedible chewy... fortunately, there were only three small pieces lol. It really was the perfect micro portion, but every bite was perfection. Because everything was so good, I tried to order the flourless chocolate torte because I knew that my taste buds deserved that experience. Alas, they were out. I "settled" for the banana bread pudding with whipping cream and berries. Epic. The berries were fresh and crisp and the banana was not overdone. I don't think they do anything poorly and I hope to return to Boston and visit again.

If I could give this place a negative star, I would. Everything about the service here is basement level awful. When we were sat at a table, they put us in some dark corner by a bunch of plants and swarming bees / wasps. The table next to us looked like they were playing pickle ball with their napkins trying to swat them away.I had asked if they could possibly move us since I had a napping toddler in a stroller and didn't want him to get stung. When I went up to the hostess, a woman with multi colored hair (presumably a manager?) was reprimanding her about something -- come in, in front of guests and at the hostess stand? I didn't think she would be very accommodating just based on that first impressionShe basically told me she couldn't do anything about it since she couldn't control the bees. There were literally about 10 other tables open... I've worked in customer service roles and I know it's not easy or possible to make everything perfect for everyone, but I think when it comes to safety and little kids and fairly simple requests -- be a bit more accommodating. "Sorry I know we sat you next to a wasp nest and I hope your sleeping child doesn't get stung but too bad if he does - that's nature". I don't have enough words for how poorly that was handled.

Eva is located in the very center of Newbury Street in Boston. We were drawn to dine here because of the shaded outdoor patio, that gave us a good view of the very busy street in Boston. Of course, the menu that was posted outside was another seller. Our waitress was lovely, she was chatty, friendly, patient and quick. We got two pizzas, the Four Cheese and the Eva Supreme. We also got the Spinach and Artichoke Dip and the Mixed Mediterranean Salad. The dip arrived first. It was a bit spicy with the paprika flakes on top. It was very tasty, and the pita bread was fresh. The salad was very similar to a Greek salad, it was huge, with plenty of fresh ricotta. The pizzas were much larger than I expected. The Four Cheese pizza was my favorite. It is a thin crust pizza, with the most delicious cheeses layered, including some very thin apple slices. This was a masterpiece of a pizza, super flavorful and delicious! The Eva Supreme was a pepperoni pizza with some additional toppings. This was ok, if your favorite is a pepperoni pizza, then you will like this.We had a wonderful time at Eva's. Their food is fresh and delicious, the service is excellent. I'd love to stop by the next time I'm on Newbury Street.

Really wanted to like Eva but it was alright. Located in a popular area, with a cute name, I probably had too high expectations. Although I only got a salad and a wine for brunch, it's happy hour somewhere in the world. They didn't knock me off of my feet

One of my favorite brunch places on Newbury Street! I got the egg Benedict and my friend got the frittata. We were able to get a table even though we didn't have a reservation which was great. They have two floors and I'd definitely recommend getting a table on the second floor since you get a good view of Newbury street!

The outdoor ambiance was charming, promising a nice dining setting on a warm day.We ordered from the midday menu provided on our table, including tomato soup, caesar salad, spinach dip, and clam chowder. The food, though delayed, was good. The service, however, was not up to par. Our wait for the meal stretched to 40 minutes, and when we inquired, the waiter incorrectly claimed we had ordered from the dinner menu. I pointed out that our selections were from the midday menu, which we were given upon arrival. No dinner menu was presented at any point. His manner was dismissive, lacking the basic courtesy I would expect in such an establishment. The lack of apology and the waiter's demeanor were disappointing. Still, I don't believe one person's mistake should overshadow the whole restaurant. I hope the waiter takes this feedback as an opportunity to improve how customers are treated.

Came to Eva's for dinner--despite being crowded, the service was super quick (we were done with our meal in less than 45 minutes)! the interior was pretty--quite simple, although it was a bit cold since we were seated close to the door in February. Both the burger and shrimp scampi were great--the falafel was soft and flavorful and the shrimp scampi was flavorful.

Love 'Open Newbury' on Sundays in the Summer when the street is closed to traffic. Perfect for patio and street dining. Tried Eva's patio today because it was hot but not humid. The tuna tartare was outstanding. Good serving of tuna. The burrata was good but a bit boring- had 3-4 cherries and some pistachios. I ordered a side of delicious pita because it wasn't served with any bread. The server was great but the bar was very slow. I ordered my drink before I ordered food. I was halfway through my food when the server returned to tell me they were out of the limoncello for one of their signature craft cocktails. I chose a different drink. It arrived as I ate my last bite of food. The food service was much faster than the bar but both the food and drink were good. I probably wouldn't order the burrata again as it wasn't really special- but it was good. There was a busker performing on the street- nice to have live music with brunch.

we scored a table outside with no res and only a 10 min wait! the decorations were pretty and there were a bunch of tiny flags up for 4th of july. i was soooo bummed when they ran out of the creamy garlic mussels - it sounded so delicious. but we ended up getting the clam pizza and the short rib gnocchi. clam on pizza is interesting... very chew but i'm glad i tried it!! the sauce was creamy and good to pair. the short rib gnocchi was FANTASTIC. the short rib was sliced into tender pieces and spread over the gnocchi - what a fun pairing! i got a lavender gin drink which was also so delicious and had a strong flavor of lavender - EXACTLY what i love!! service was ok, could be better, would've been nice if we were checked up on a bit more. other than that great experience!
