The bread is just amazing! It's so yeasty and warm. We had a sampler platter and traditional sausage (cevapti?). The sausage is good but a bit gelatinous; not sure if it's supposed to be that way or if it was just this version. These little breakfast sausage looking things came on a huge bun. I have no idea if one is supposed to pick it up to eat it (not sure how?), but I tore off pieces of bread to make my own little sausage/bread wraps. We went on a blizzardy Saturday night and were the only people there. Very nice service. A bit dark but I like that it's kind of a hole in the wall. A hidden gem.

The latest on our tour of all places Eastern European in the area, Euro Grill had the best food. We found the building itself to be kind of stereotypical of the cuisine's restaurants in this area. Looks like it's closed when you drive up, lights all off inside, nobody inside but staff and only one of them seems to speak any english. They always seem like nightclubs just waiting for the sun to go down and the track suits to pour in.Hey, if that's authentic, great! Once you push past the awkward vibe of seemingly coming in after hours to a foreign country, the food was something special. Particularly the bread. We ordered the Cheese Burek, which I would describe as essentially gourmet fried stuffed cheesy bread. The side of puffy bread that came with our two dinners was also fantastic, hot and fresh, with a crusty outside and moist doughy middle. We also had the meat platter to get a sampling of the meats, and flavor-wise they were all good as well. A little well done for my taste but I sense that is the style of the region perhaps, as it's been common across the restaurants we've been to. The biggest letdown was the chicken, flat as a pancake and dry as jerky. The bread was good enough for me to forgive the sad desiccated piece of chicken. The only other negative I'd point out is that we asked for 'just' water and were given bottles of water - at a charge of 1.00 a piece - without any confirmation. This is one of two restaurants I've been in my life (the other was a local food truck brick and mortar offshoot) where bottled water was the only option. No bueno. Euro Grill was a great value and a filling meal with memorable breads - and with the least awkward experience of the 4 local Eastern European restaurants we know of, I sense we'll be back.

I have never had a stuffed burger before but when I tried the pljeskavica with cheese stuffed inside, it was amazing. Meat is grilled to perfection and the bread was fluffy and indescribable. Recommend coming here to try authentic Balkan food for a nice visit outside of Chicago. Hvala vam puno!

After working in the Balkans I am constantly searching for authentic Cevapi and Burek. This place hits the mark. Both are spot on as I remember. The kaymak was a little sweeter than I remember but still good. The bread is authentic Eastern European bakery style. The service was good, our waitress was attentive and smiling. The place is decorated sparsely and is typical of what you would find overseas. About the only negative thing I could find about this place was they don't have beer.

Euro Grill is all grown up!They used to be located at another small shopping strip in Des Plaines, but a couple years ago they closed down (as did Chef's Corner in Naperville) and I couldn't get Cevapi in the Suburbs. I had to trek it all the way to Chicago. And you're probably thinking, "Tough shit," right? My Grandpa's response to saying meat was overcooked and tough was always, "It's tougher where there isn't any." Well, for about a year there wasn't a single Cevapi place within 20 miles of home. Let's just say that was a very dark time for me.Euro Grill is now located in Rayyan Plaza III, which is a small shopping center on the east side of Elmhurst Rd between Algonquin & Dempster. If you blink you might miss it, but I hope you find it. It's definitely worth it. Everything has been upgraded. I liked the old place because it was small and cozy; however, the newer place is bright and open. They have tons of seating now and the menu has expanded a little bit.The food could be described as "Balkan's Best." They have Cevapi, which are seasoned minced meat sausages served atop a pillowy Lepinja (fluffy Balkan pita-style bread) with a side of diced onions, tomatoes and Kajmak (a buttery sour spread). You can also get Pljeskavica (Balkan-style Burger) or a stuffed Pljeskavica with cheese. If you can't make up your mind then go with Mijesano Meso (Mixed Meat). If you want something a little less messy then you can grab yourself a meat-filled Burek (filo dough stuffed with spiced ground beef). Maybe meat isn't your thing, but have no fear! The Cheese Burek will do the trick. You also have Pasulj (Bean Soup) or Sopska Salata (onion, tomato, cucumber salad) topped with Feta cheese. Another option is the Cabbage Salad or fresh French Fries (ask them to top the fries with Feta!).As you can see, it's not an extensive menu, but it's really all you need to know when it comes to basic Balkan dishes. If you can believe it, the old menu was much smaller. The prices are decent and you can lose a few hours there sipping Turkish coffee, beer or Fructal fruit juices. I highly recommend finishing the meal off with a Baklava or Tulumba (honey-soaked baked treat).

I was in the area and after a long days work had a hankering for some cevapi and maybe a decent burek. My usual go to for that is Bosna Grill but they close (sometimes even before time) at 8 pm. Using the Yelp app I found a place still open and placed an order by phone. Twenty minutes later I was driving up and down Elmhurst road trying to find this place. Yelp shows that it's on Elmhurst but in a location near the overpass of I-90. But, the address is all wrong then. A quick call to the grill and I was back on track.Pulling up to the place, it seemed typical. In that, places like this in Chicago tend to draw the attention of men of all kinds. It's known that an attractive Eastern European woman will most likely tend bar. Booze will be available and at some point Euro will hit the airwaves. Who doesn't like the attention of a pretty lady? And she was mighty pretty.I ordered a beef burek and cevapi. I like their burek, the meat seemed to have flavor as if sauteed a bit before it was stuffed and baked. The cevapi was nice as well, ample amount of soft cheese served with two halves of that fluffy Yugoslavian style bread with a hearty portion of beef links, tomato slices and chopped onions. (I kind of prefer the long slices to the tiny chopped kind.) With a shortie bottle of Cockta, I paid somewhere around fifteen and a half dollars. Good stuff, I'd probably go back to try other items.

I work in Elk Grove just a few mins away and my hus and and I met for lunch here as the place was highly recommended by my coworker. I am very open minded with food and eat lots of different types of foods but never had Bosnian food. I was pleasantly surprised! We got the combination meat platter and a plate of goulash. The bread was amazing, the cheese bread that is a side was very good, the goulash was served with rice and tasted like something your grandma would make. It was such a satisfying lunch for a low price. The ambience of the place was a little odd but certainly not a typical of a lot of eastern European markets or restaurants. Our waiter was really nice, there were tons of smoking people right outside the door which wasn't good because we brought our baby there, but nonetheless the food was awesome. It is true they only offer bottled water, which isn't a dealbreaker, but I think it should be given to you for free. I will definitely be back for lunch another time, this place is a great option but the food did take a little time to receive but it was totally worth it! I really like the bread and meats there, super delicious!

The cevapi are the frozen store bought ones you can get at any grocery store and make yourself. Don't sell me something I make at home an it costs me fraction of the price. Make fresh cevapi like a normal restaurant

Great hidden Balkan restaurant spot on Elmhurst Rd in Des Plaines. Don't let the interior of the restaurant deceive you. The food here is delicious, generous, and authentic. Family run business, and everything is made in house. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Don't pass this place up.
