A return visit to Etch after a few years. I was excited to introduce my friends to this restaurant. It was better than I remembered. We had a fabulous dinner with the best service from Shaylee. She was so personable & engaging. We started out with cocktails. The guy had old fashioneds, my girlfriend had a French martini, and I had the Underground Races cocktail. All were well made. Our table of four then shared two appetizers, the smoked carpaccio and the duck tart. Both winners. The carpaccio was very minimal with paper thin steak, but tasty. I would have preferred a larger serving with charred grilled bread. The duck tart was perfect. We shared a bottle wine with our entrées. I had the pan-seared scallops and my husband had the special offering, swordfish. Both our entrées were culinary masterpieces. The seafood cooked perfectly, the flavors outstanding and the taste was divine. The four of us ended our dinner sharing two desserts, the chocolate mousse bar and the pavlova. Sweet delights. The chocolate mousse bar was so decadent. The perfect dessert for chocolate alcoholics.Each dish from appetizer to dessert was presented beautifully. This dinner by far was the best of our three dinners in Nashville. I highly recommend this restaurant. The previous time I dined at Etch and didn't order dessert. The manager Allison invited me back the next time I was in town for dessert after reading my glowing review. I'm so happy I didn't skip dessert this time.

Our waitress Sandra was amazing! She made this birthday celebration great. Her service was wonderful. The kitchen was extremely slow and the bar service was slow too. The restaurant tried to pack a lot of different things into their dishes which is great, but maybe a simpler approach would be better. For the price of the entrees, I think the portion size was ok, especially because it is in downtown Nashville. The atmosphere was very nice with a great street view. The noise level was a little loud and at times it was a struggle to have a conversation. The complementary valet parking is a nice feature. Overall, it's a good place for a special occasion.

Great service! We loved the vegetarian plate. The arancini balls were good. Scallops good but too heavily salted for me and needed acid. We really loved the ambiance. Wonderful gem of a spot in Nashville.

Food was divine! Ambiance low noise chatter, darkened but well lit enough to see others. Prices moderate to high for a decent restaurant. Waitress was knowledgeable to the point she didn't write anything down but got it exactly right-attentive to our needs and when we were ready to order without pestering us to hurry . Filet on potatoes cooked to perfection and salmon catch of the day was bursting with many flavors from sweet to spicy to salty.

My wife and I visited Etch during our trip to Nashville based on a friend's recommendation. It was a great experience. We were greeted and sat by a very charming hostess. We sat at the counter so we could look into the kitchen and it was an excellent experience. It was a beehive of activity. Our server was super attentive and fun. You will not be disappointed with the food and drink. I had an excellent old fashioned and my wife had a gin based cocktail with citrus that was also excellent. The food was very tasty. The Brussels sprouts were a great way to start. We both had the mahi mahi fish special. It was prepared well and was very flavorful. The sauce was fabulous and complemented the fish well.Make reservations as it gets BUSY!

Food was excellent and creative. Service was top-notch. We split the roasted cauliflower appetizer. I had the seared halibut special and my husband had the venison. They were both excellent. The fried brussel sprouts were to die for. We could not stop eating them. We finished with the rhubarb almond tart with a Sauternes.

When I say that this is the best meal I have had this year, I don't say that lightly. THIS place is hands down the best meal I've had and it is for 2 reasons. First, I've had a lot of seared scallops in my day and these are by far the buttery gods that top them all. Period. End of sentence. Not sure what they did but this is the one. Second, the special menu pork schnitzel with parsnip purée is A GEM. I think it was a daily special but I pray to GOD that they make it part of the normal menu because I would choose this as my death row meal. Cocktails were solid, chef's table experience was excellent, bread was lovely. Etch has truly left a mark on me and I hope they continue their crusade of superb dining!

Etch is the perfect place for a mid-week power lunch. I sat at the bar but they have plenty of tables and even have private rooms for groups/work events. The food was extremely good too - started with the tempura mushrooms, cooked perfectly. They come with an addictingly good ponzu sake sauce. Then followed with the spanish beef tenderloin. Perfect medium rare and come with manchego mashed potato on the side - delicious and a generous portion for the price.
