I was just in Rome a month ago it felt like we were back there. There was a cooking class that I took with we made pasta and it took me right back. Definitely will be back and can recommend to all of my friends and family! Service was impeccable. Explained the dishes thoroughly + came back and checked on us. Refilled our water + wine glasses with our bottle too. One girl was even from Rome (Trastavere) and we had been to the same bar in her neighborhood!! Ambiance- lovely, lively and not too loud. It made me feel like I was at an Italian grandma's house. Super cozy. 100% obsessed

The service was not very friendly and the food was just okay. All the servers are wearing headphones, AirPods, EarPods, etc. I don't know if this is for internal communications but I had to repeat myself several times. I don't think they can hear well and everyone seems so upset about something. Not many smiles from anyone. The food was alright, but nothing to write home about. Compared to the Italian food in Little Italy, this was very average. We had the mussels, meatballs, some kind of salad, and the braised pork shoulder/baby back rib(s) fettuccine. It says ribs on the menu but only comes with one rib. :/ The sauce wasn't very flavorful and the bread was kind of hard/chewy. I wasn't too disappointed but I definitely have no interest in going back again. We sat on the (indoor) patio out back, next to the oven. It was an okay atmosphere.I don't think this place needs a menu overhaul but some staff training on smiling would go a long way towards getting customers to return.

Finally made my way over to try Cesarina's sister restaurant, Elvira! Elvira is focused on Roman dishes. It's easier to visit last minute in comparison to Cesarina. Overall I prefer the variety of dishes at Cesarina, but still really enjoyed the pasta quality at Elvira. During my visit, I shared the sausage mushroom pizza, bucatini all'amatriciana, and rigatoni al sugo. The pizza was very bready and tasted stale. I would not get the pizza again. Both pastas were perfectly al dente. The guanciale in the bucatini dish could have been more crispy.

Elvira is a cute restaurant and more casual than the sister restaurant Cesarina, even down to the menu which has a big pizza section. My husband and I ordered an appetizer, pasta, and pizza. The appetizer which was a special that night was the most memorable bite. It was an extra large ravioli the size of a large post-it filed with cheese, meat, and mushrooms, then coated in breadcrumbs and deep fried. It was served with a béchamel that was delicious. The cacio e Pepe was superb, perfectly salted, very peppery, and had a nice chew to the pasta. The pizza was our least favorite and don't think we'd order again. It was the Provolona which had sausage, mushrooms, and actual slices of provolone cheese. It lacked flavor, the crust was okay, and was one note. The service was impeccable just as it always is at Cesarina and restaurant itself gorgeous.

We scored a last minute dinner reservation Sunday night, after we had to cancel lunch at their sister restaurant earlier (so sad!). It was our first time dining here, and we absolutely loved it!!!They gave us a warm welcome for our anniversary celebration (and a small glass of Prosecco), and the service was exceptional. Maybe they're new or maybe that's how Cesarina also runs their service -- but it was one of the best service experiences I've had in a while. The store is broken into 4-5 sections. 2 inside small "rooms", 1 bar, 1 patio, and 1 large table for big groups. Each seems to have a different ambiance to it. Plastered on the walls are photos of "Nonna" and the family- creating a mom/pop feel of the storeWe got their Arugula infused tequila beverage to try, and it was ok. Tasted like a cucumber margaritas - refreshing but thought it'd be a bit more punchy. Their second drink on the cocktail menu looked cool with this lemon sorbet pour over (our neighbor table had).We got the Sunday special appetizer of the day- San pietrini (cobblestone!) y chicory y salsicca, which was a great surprise! It's like pesto pasta with some pork in a breadcrumb coated brick and side of yummy cheese. For pasta, we also got the Rigatoni Alla Norcina, which is probably cooked in the pork sausage oil with cream sauce and it was soooo melt in your mouth good. For pizza, we got the Super Arrabiatta - which came with a huge slab of burrata on top and it was heavenly.I liked the pasta more but my bf liked pizza more. 100% would come back here!!! Hopefully the service and experience stays just as good

This place is absolutely great ! Excited to come back and try different dishes. We tried one of the specials they were having which was risotto with cheese. We shared the carbonara and I loved it ! We tried another pasta and it was just as good. The place itself is so cutely decorated, great for date night or family dinner. The service was lovely , every single person who worked there made us feel so welcomed. Everyone came to check in on us. Would highly recommend this place.

Really, really great establishment. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here at Elvira! The ambience for one is really great. From the hostess to our waiter, we were treated like family and we felt the love the whole time we were there. There is a parking lot right next to the restaurant and a park nearby so plenty of spaces available. The place was decorated cutely and felt cozy. It wasn't very busy when we came for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, but it is still brand new so I'll just recommend having a reservation, just in case! We were celebrating an anniversary which they acknowledged and offered us a glass of (free) champagne each. That was thoughtful. The food was fairly priced and everything was really flavorful. I guess the highlight of their restaurant was their pizzas? We tried a couple and I must say, just a bit disappointed. Well to be fair, the dough was a little elevated than some Italian places, but it wasn't the best we had. Definitely shareable pizzas for about $19-20 each w/thick slices. Elvira has specials everyday of the week and Saturdays were tripe! We tried it and it was pretty tasty [$25] covered in marinara sauce & basil. Also tried their meatballs [$17], that was a hit. Both these apps came with yummy focaccia bread. Also tried a couple of their pasta dishes [fettuccine w/braised pork shoulder $31 & tonnarelli w/prawns $33] which were all pretty good, but we weren't too impressed. Finished lunch with a couple of their desserts: affogato [$12] & crostata [$15]. Both were really great choices. Definitely took a team nap after all that! Really great place- thank you!

We had our Friday dinner here - pleasant atmosphere, courteous service. To start we had salad and deep fried squash blossoms served with 2 sauces - blossoms were delicious! For main dishes we had chicken with potatoes & broccolini - flavorful dish. Housemade pasta with chopped shrimp was al dente, sauce was very flavorful & not overpowering. Pork shoulder & rib pasta was flavorful & well presented. We did not try any desserts this time.
