Food is super quick!! I ordered all of this went to restroom to wash my hands and it was ready by the time I walked out!!Love the convenience of the location. I'm sure they get busy being right across a High School. The tortillas tasted fresh not too chewy. Just right.Small restaurant. Order take out or be ready to wait for a table. It can be hit or miss especially during lunch time. Staff was nice.Teachers and District employees get a discount on Wednesdays!! Great way to give back to the community! I will definitely be back to try fried bread next time!

After passing by this place for years and finally stopping in, I really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately I didn't. It seems very popular--there was a constant stream of customers coming in while we were there. There is dining room with photos of Elmer (I presume?) and an old menu that shows a hamburger was $1 and a sofa was 40¢. The staff is super friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. I will start by saying the rice was fantastic! And I really liked my shredded beef taco, too. I had a bite of my son's communications, and it was also great. But the red sauce on my cheese enchilada was not for me. I did not like it at all. I only ate a couple of bites. I also did not like my tostada because the lettuce tasted like pre-shredded lettuce in a bag. I really dislike bagged lettuce because there is a weird taste to me. I only ate a couple bites of the tostada, too. I kind of feel like I should like more than 50% of my meal, and should not and up throwing away 50% of my meal. I may or may not return. So many people seem to love it, so it's possible that I came in an off day.

At Elmer's, you'll find exceptional salsa--simple yet bursting with flavor. Whether you're dipping chips or drizzling it over your meal, it's some of the best. The fry bread deserves applause--crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, it's the perfect canvas for any topping. The taquitors are crunchy and savory. They're a must-try for handheld deliciousness. And the fries won't disappoint--crispy, golden, and seasoned just right, they complement your meal perfectly. Finally, Elmer's breakfast burritos are a go-to. Whether you crave classic flavors or want to explore creative combinations, they've got you covered.

Elmers Taco, we love and only love! Located in the heart of Chandler downtown, this Taco joint has history and heritage. The place is small with outside seating. The menus are displayed on the screen. They have Taco Tuesday's. We usually go for breakfast burritos and tacos! My favorite is their el pastor tacos. The service is fast and food is served in disposable containers. Highly recommended.

A fairly small Mexican restaurant with friendly staff. I got the fish taco, al pastor taco, carne asada burro, and the red Chile beef burro.First off, the tortillas on everything just sucked. They're tough, chewy, and flavorless. The fish taco was pretty decent but too dry, a little greasy but still fine. Al pastor taco's flavor wasn't great. The meat was too tough and they weren't in bite sized pieces to be comfortable to eat.Red Chile burro was extremely tough. The flavor was very mild. I assumed it was mild in spiciness not in flavor, but I guess I was wrong. The tough beef and the tough tortilla did not go well together. The asada burro was a bit better but still wasn't anything stand out. Not a huge fan of the guac because it made the inside too goopy. Both the burros are fairly small as well. The price is pretty insane considering it's $4.11 per taco. I've had cheaper tacos at an actual restaurant. It was $7ish for the red Chile burro and $9ish for the asada burro. Pretty pricey considering the lack of quality. We also waited a long time for the order to the point where we thought they forgot our order as they called so many people's numbers that were after us.Overall a pretty normal taco experience in Arizona. Would not recommend.

I think about Elmer's once a week! The food is always so good so we ordered a ton to try more things. We got the Fry Bread with Beans and Cheese, Eggs and Machaca Breakfast Burro, Chicken Flautas and Carne Asada Fries. I recommend them all! The machaca was soft and tender. The tortilla is just perfect. And who would have known they have fry bread?! I also got the Bean and Cheese Burrito but I would opt for the fry bread over that since I don't like beans as much. As for the salsa, it's still fantastic. Can't wait until my next visit!

I had an impromptu lunch here a few weeks ago with a friend, and while it wasn't my choice to come here, the food was a pleasant surprise.I was in the area and needed a lunch spot and asked my friend to choose, so this is where we ended up.We walked in, and this place was packed with people, so that's a good sign! Means meals are being made and lots of them! Which usually means fresh! I, unfortunately, have some tummy issues, and for some reason, there seems to be a pattern that when I do eat spicy Mexican, things start to go awry. I love Mexican, but my tummy puts up a protest, so I try to limit my intake.Anyhow, I was a little worried I would have a flare up, but I tried to stay positive. What caught my eye was the special of the day of tamale de elote. I love tamales and usually can handle those as they tend to be milder and you can choose to add spicy or not. I think this dish came to $8.95 or so and came with 2 tamales, rice, beans and chips and salsa, and the portion was large.I really liked the tamale de elote and had lunch for the next day too and no tummy flareup! Win-win! This is a grab and go place with some seating inside and outdoors. I'd definitely come back for their tamales again!

Very good, I knew that upon getting out of my car and smelling the aromas coming from within. Everything done very well and on point. The salsa also spicy so points for that too. The beans and rice prepared so good too. Little bit of a lunch rush, but worth the wait and to be expected when the food is good.

Hubby & I had a late lunch here today. I figured at 2:30 it wouldn't be busy, but I was wrong. This was our first time here. We wanted a little something to make it to dinner. I ordered 2 potato tacos with a side of sour cream, and a churro fry bread for us to share. Hubby ordered a green chili chicken burro & a red chili tamale.I love potato tacos, and these did not disappoint! The churro fry bread was good too. This was the first time we have had fry bread. I was pleasantly surprised the red taco sauce was not too spicy for me. I am super big whimp when it comes to spicy. They ran out of red chili tamales so hubby was asked if he was okay with the green one which is the elote tamale. He said it was okay. He loved the green chili chicken burro. He had it had tons of green chilies and they were the good ones. The place is small, noisy, and old, buy the food was so good. I can't wait to go back and try the bean & cheese cone, the rice, & other items. I only regret not finding this place sooner!

Same good food. Prices have risen, and burritos have shrank, but this place is still a gem.
