Elixir Espresso Bar

This place is super cute and sleek! It has a lot of tables and light, and even a table with a swing. They have a bunch of food options in addition to the drinks and pastries/tarts. There is a whole display of gluten free pastries as well. Highly recommend checking out this place to grab a drink, a bite to eat, or to get some work done

In the area and was looking for coffee and a treat, a quick Yelp search turned up Elixir and I happened to be across the street. I didn't see any spots in the few street spots out front so I parked across the street by CVS and walked.I was greeted by a man and woman who were so kind and friendly and answered a few questions about their "Screaming Goat" espresso. I was so delighted to see the entire pastry case was gluten free and many items were vegan too! I ordered a Cold Brew with a splash of oat milk and a gluten free + vegan chocolate donut, to go.I quickly glanced around the place while I waited on my drink (which was ready quickly). It's open air with a handful of indoor and outdoor tables, most if not all were taken. It looks cute and quaint, and was clean from what I could see.The cost was fair, $10 for what I got.The cold brew was a bit bitter for my taste, but strong.The donut was really tasty - well done!I'd probably come back and try Elixir again if I found myself in the area.

I used to frequent this European cafe for their superior espresso so I stopped in this morning only to be confronted by a tall brunette barista with an attitude. I politely enquired as to the price of their croissants and received a dismissive answer from the princess. The young male barista was much more accommodating and polite, so I ignored her attitude and dealt with him. Unfortunately, the princess wouldn't leave me alone and when I asked her colleague about the cost of a coffee refill, which she didn't know, I said "never mind", as politely as I could to which the tall princess butted in to sarcastically proclaim "Thank you for your patience". I decided to leave at that point while her male colleague attempted to apologize for her behavior.I thanked him but explained that I really couldn't be bothered to deal with kind of treatment on a Sunday morning.It's still a nice cafe but they need better staffing.

Why is it that the employees of a business with a bad attitude always destroy the reputation and economics of a good running business????As an employer I'm always concern about this in my business!!!It happens all the time when you like to go to a coffee shop that is owned and operated by the same owner and you get a superb service in one location (La Jolla ) and horrible service in another (garnet ) location!All I wanted was to change a pastry that I purchased and reaction to exchange it was too rude and a bit snobby!I have retail stores also and the customers always come first......Please No attitude , No anger reaction,No shows ..... if you care about your business Just give a simple smile and few dollars of loss with pay back in hundreds....Perhaps the management will take this more seriously and teach those girls behind the counter that the business is more than just making a cappuccino or server a pastry!

I've been wanting to try out different coffee shops in PB and finally tried Elixir. It's one of my favorites now. The absolute best thing on the menu by far is the chicken pesto crepe!

Friendly service. Generous avocado toast, just missing a little seasoning and lemon juice. Cute place, but had to keep swatting flies away. Other baked goods looked good!

Omg loved this coffee shop! Clean with great chill vibe, great staff and perhaps the best dirty chai I've ever had! There's a cute swing at one of the tables that I had so much fun with :)

Elixir has and always be top tier coffee in PB or in La Jolla . Their espresso machine is by far beautiful and futuristic. The espresso pulls are always consistently rich . The owner is a very nice person . They have good beans with flavor matched with some delicious treats and donuts . I recommend the matcha donut.

Super cute espresso bar, with a welcoming asthetic. Plenty of food options and fast service. Their iced matcha always tastes amazing!

I'm a huge fan of this place! I've been here a couple of times now and typically go with a Viennese latte or an iced vanilla latte. Prices are a tad high but the quality of the coffee you'll get here is super high. I'll be back and would recommend!
