El Vaquero

My family had dinner there last night. We have already tried the other Mexican restaurants in town so we thought we would give them a try. El Vaquero did not disappoint! Everything we had was absolutely delicious! You can tell everything is fresh and made to order. We will definitely go back.

This place is amazing! The staff are polite and prompt. The food came out in a timely manner, hot, and tasted absolutely delicious!

My wife and I have tried many Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurants over the years. Some have been great, some "run of the mill" and some just so-so. This place is run of the mill. Nothing to write home about but nothing bad either. Refried beans were the usual thin bean paste with cheese mixed in that you get in 75% of Mexican restaurants. The veggie enchiladas were ok. Mexican rice was the same as most Mexican restaurants. My wife's combination dinner was not extraordinary either. We probably won't return when El Alteño and El Molcajete restaurants have better food here in Springfield.

Great place They always have great food The service is amazing and great Margaritas If you don't visit this restaurant you will be missing out

y'all, so good we got gosh tacos and shrimp fajitas...this place is fire. good service just come here and they have tvs to watch football.

Best Mex food in Springfield, good service good food building is a little dated but I don't go there to be impressed by architecture

I'm an avid consumer of Mexican cuisine....I have it at minimum of twice a week and try just about all of the Mexican restaurants that I come across. Needless to say, I consider myself a semi professional eater of all things Mexican.This place is absolutely amazing!!! Best tacos I've had in quite some time. Chips & salsa were good, touch of heat to the salsa which is a plus in my book. The spicy tomatillo sauce/ salsa was flavorful and had a nice amount of heat. The corn tortillas were nothing short of perfect...they tasted amazing and didn't fall apart. The ground beef was literally the best I've ever had, shredded chicken was the juiciest that I've ever had the pleasure of gracing my pallet with, the grilled chicken was also 10 / 10. Of all the Mexican restaurants I've set foot in....and we are talking thousands....this one is near the top of my list without a doubt. I will go back as often as possible and I highly recommend it to all. ¡Este es mi nuevo favorito!

Ok, I know what you're thinking, "Doesn't look like a great place from the outside." But trust me, you'll be glad you checked it out!Food is very good and super affordable compared to the other two "better looking on the outside" Mexican restaurants in Springfield!Sure, the building is a pig in a prom dress but the food, price and service are great!Chicken chimmie for me, only $5.99 for lunch!!

Don't judge a book by its cover, or a restaurant by its door.. awesome carnitas, tacos, toreadas and cold beer. This is on the go again list.
