Best Mexican in town! Delicious tacos and burritos and a variety of salsas from not spicy to very spicy, super delicious. Fresh veggies, tasty hot meats, great quality and flavor overall. Awesome to take to go since the shop is quite small. Call or order ahead and you're set to go!

Relaxing Mexican music and friendly staff greeted me as I walked into the small restaurant tucked away right next to Kroger. There were a good number of people sitting at the bar watching a game and enjoying themselves on a Sat night 30 min prior to closing. I've been reading good reviews and I was looking for something less expensive so this seemed perfect. I couldn't help but laugh to myself knowing I was heading into El Trompo, which to me was too similar sounding to our last president to pass up. I order three tacos, all different meats to get a good sample......Whoa the pork had a great slightly sweet taste that came as a nice surprise ! The beef was a step above what I'm normally used to...spiced better. Same with the chicken, a different spice than I'm used to, for the better !! Great value too! I'll be back!

If you're looking for something that will rock your taste buds off, this is it, my friends! Things you should know:I. PARKING El Trompo is in a plaza and shares a free public lot out front. There are plenty of available spaces. II. SERVICEEverything is ordered at the register. It's not a sit and order type of deal. We like that there's a salsa bar as a part of the dining experience. III. QUALITYThe meat won us over! Chicken can be pretty bland but they really know how to even whip that up with tons of flavor. As for healthy food options? Eh, you're not going to find much of that here.IV. CAPACITY Fair amount of available seating on a weekday night. I assume this restaurant satisfies a majority of their customers through online orders.

A great place to stop by for a quick lunch. Got the enchiladas verdes with the seasoned chicken. Wish I'd kept the regular chicken instead but it was still yummy. We got chips and salsa too but I wish they didn't charge for those, like most similar restaurants around. Good selection of draft beers and the staff was very welcoming and kind.

Best pastor tacos/sopes! Service was fast and awesome! Love little spots like this - they pay (ambiance) attention to all the details of what the big restaurants do not! Will definitely be back !

After being my favorite for almost 10 years, the quality and consistency of product here has dropped so far off. Beto's up the road has become my our go to now. Last night:Carnitas quesadilla was absolutely dripping in grease and inedible. Burrito had to be pulled apart it was built so poorly. Place was empty at 6pm but sat at counter and waited for internet order for 30min. What a let down! Breaks my heart. Nice family, but I just can't waste money on a terrible product.

We love this place. We used to visit a few times a month. The food is always consistent. We haven't been here in a while, but we were in the area and craving authentic Mexican. It is located in the Kroger shopping plaza with plenty of parking out front. I walked in and there were a few people on late Tuesday afternoon. We got for tacos (asada, lengua, pastor) and their agua fresca. I love the salsa bar they have with fresh jalapeños, limes and pickled vegetables. The tacos are corn tortilla packed with meat and topped with onions and cilantro. I love the creamy salsa verde. That was the perfect combination for a perfect bite. I got the guava aqua fresca and it was delicious. I've tried many other items here and they have all been excellent. They also have daily specials. Definitely come check them out to satisfy your Mexican cravings.

Located within a small shopping strip next to a Kroger, from outside the place doesn't look convincing. We came on a Friday night before 8PM but it is fairly empty. There were only 2 other people eating inside. We took our time studying the limited menu, placed our orders at the counter, and then picked our own table to sit. We didn't wait long for our food to arrive. To our surprise, we LOVED our food. The Al pastor pork is superb and the beef tongue is my favorite. This should be in your list if you are looking for affordable authentic no fuss Mexican food. See food description via posted pictures.

El Trompo is a hidden gem (but, maybe not so hidden based on the number of reviews)!The food has great flavor and the portion sizes are huge. I ordered 3 tacos with chips/salsa. The spiced pork is fantastic..not spicy, but the flavor is on point. The salsa bar is a great addition and has salsas for all levels of spice tolerance. If the food can be topped, it is only by the customer service. The ladies working the cash register and kitchen are amazing! They treat you like family in their own house. The location is a bit awkward and it is a complete hole in the wall. But, honestly, the ambiance of the place makes it better. You feel at home. Overall, this place is fantastic and I will definitely go back!
