This is my best friend's go to place and I can understand why! The food here is always solid, they are open late, and prices are extremely reasonable! We got started off with the free chips and salsa. The chips were warm and delicious! I decided to go with the Mexican street tacos on corn tortillas. They give you a choice of meats so I went with one chorizo and two carnitas. The chorizo was standard but the carnitas, WOW. I don't think I've ever had carnitas this soft! This came with a side of beans which was a huge amount. I definitely took food home, which was enough for another meal.If you're looking for your go-to Mexican place, look no further! Come here!

I would call this place mediocre at best. The salsa was bland, chips were half fresh half not, etc. I got the typical Speedy Gonzales to compare everyone and the ground beef was also bland without much salt or seasoning. I won't be back as there are so many places to try north of here on Nolensville to come back here. Sorry.

My Fiancé and I live close to this location and have been coming here a few times a month for the past year! The servers and staff are always very friendly and the food always comes out hot, fresh, and delicious. We find El Sombrero great for a quick and fresh takeout meal with their fajita bowl option OR we find it great for taking guest here to enjoy their margaritas and fun atmosphere. I recently left a pair of nice sunglasses when we were dining in and the owner was sure to keep them for me until I picked them up the next day. This just adds on to their great atmosphere and genuineness! This is hands down the best authentic Mexican food restaurant in Nashville!

They need to rename this place to "What the F@*k was Your Order?"Seriously. My wife likes Mexican and we order this frequently. I get one of two traditional Mexican dishes: either enchiladas or tacos "al pastor". The order is never right. Ever.Most times it's the taco order that gets messed up. Usually they assume the gringos want flour tortillas for their al pastor tacos, even though their menu specifically states corn, and I always specify corn. One time I got shredded cheese on my pastor tacos. Never experienced that before.Tonight it was beef enchiladas in place of chicken. The best part was the kitchen receipt which said "pollo". Maybe Mexican restaurants actually have gringos in the kitchen that can't read Spanish. Oh the irony. At the end of the day, the food is fair to middling, even when they get it right. It's gringo-fied, cafeteria Mexican food, just like every other joint in Nashville serving up the Processed American Cheese and Butter "queso".
