El Snappy Mexican Food

I made my very first stop here on Friday 03-15-24 as it is close to where I work. This place is extremely small and tight fit, disorganized and yes not very clean . My dining experience at El Snappy's Mexican Food, wasn't very good. I ordered something I knew ( I should share that it took almost 10 mins for the young man who was taking orders to even take my order and no one was waiting in front of me to order and there was no menus on board to read which I thought was a little weird ) . I ordered a carne asada torta with fries on the side. I waited 20 mins to get my order. Was it good ? The Fries were the best thing, my carne asada torta was mushy and too much placed inside . I do not think I will ever go back to El Snappy's Mexican Food.

So I came here with family that frequents here, its right on the Northwest corner of Central and Elwood. I've honesty past this place many times never gave it a second glance.It's on the older side and needs some work... which I seen on a review from 2 years ago... but with the pandemic I get it. My first disappointment was the drinks... no fresh tea, it's soda in cans or Aguas Frescas and coffee. My dad was given a soda no glass with ice at least the can was cold. The coffee was ok. I ordered the chorizo and egg plate with flour tortilla. The menu states homemade tortillas but I'm thinking they meant the corn because the flour didn't seem so. I didn't think it had a lot of flavor. With my meal I had chorizo and eggs, rice, beans, salad, macaroni,chilaquiles, and calabacitas. It's definitely home cooked food and seems to be family run. We had 5 of total and our total was 40 bucks which blew my mind.. so the prices are great. I wouldn't say I wouldn't go back, I think I might try it once again because my family thinks it's really good... maybe next time I'll try something else...

Disappointed I really wanted to like this restaurant. Especially, after reading all the positive Yelp reviews. However, my dining experience at El Snappy's Mexican Food, wasn't very good. However, I would like to start this review on a positive note by saying that this customer service at Snappy's was really good.On this visit my lunch companion and I shared a Carne Asada Huarache and Carne Asada Nachos. To be honest our entree's weren't very good. Our meals lacked flavor and the Carne Asada was on the fatty side. The meat as well as the salsa just had an odd taste that wasn't pleasing. Maybe, I should have ordered something diffrent or we caught Snappy on an off day. Maybe I will revisit and give the place another try.

Good and fast service, affordable prices, I really recommend eating there. Thanks Menudo

This place is definitely a go to! Authentic Mexican food, taste like it's home made. Service is friendly, it's one of my favorites for sure.

Insanely good food. All of it. The bacon-wrapped shrimp are over the top. Prices are unbelievably reasonable. Family-run and fantastic.

Excellent authentic. Highly Recommended If you want the real deal look no more Iv tried plenty of food and this one won't disappoint

I would definitely recommend this little mom and pop restaurant! It really has that authentic Mexican restaurant feel to it. The people are kind, I was chatting with the waiter for about 15 minutes while my food was being made. I wish I had taken pictures of the food, but it looked so good, I ate it all and forgot to take pictures. My favorite part is the Christian decorations they have all throughout the restaurant. My only recommendation is that they get a card payment processor because they only accept cash, there is an ATM inside the restaurant but there's a $3.50 fee. Besides that, it's amazing place!
