This place prominently belongs in some of the foodie publications in town. The friendliness and good service should be commendable. Many mainstream establishments could learn from this simple unsophisticated place. The most important part of the review: the food is phenomenal! Tried ceviche tostadas, enmoladas, and tlayuda. Authentic flavors, quality and variety. Highly recommend if interested in a Mexican cuisine experience that's different from the other 95% of Mexican restaurants in the area.

Not sure how this spot isn't more popular. Walked in and it was empty. Was greeted by the friendliest waitresses and seated quickly. They instantly brought out complementary chips and salsa and helped me place my order. The mole chicken dish and my tamale came out very quickly and both were spot on. The chips and salsa were legit as well. Legitimately one of the best, most authentic Mexican places I've visited. After sitting around for a bit, the locals started to arrive. You know the spot is good when it's all locals eating there.

The real deal! Unlike most of the dreadful Mexican restaurants in Nashville. The mole negro and banana-leafed wrap tamales were superb! The cuisine is from Oaxaca, so if you are craving burritos and fajitas then this is not the place for you.

Service is good, fast, & friendly... all the food we ordered came out hot & flavorful.. we also ordered their tamales which we didn't get a picture of unfortunately ... they come wrapped in banana leaves & were some of the best tamales we've had in a while. Would definitely stop by again.

I wanted mole, and mole was what I got at El Sabor Pochutleco (the sign out front says "Oaxacan Cuisine Restaurant"; don't pass it by).I was quickly seated and brought a plate of home made tortilla chips with some warm mole sauce for dipping. Heaven!I tried the mole tamale, and the tacos enmoladas. The tamale was wrapped in a large banana leaf, rather than a corn husk. It had a fantastic ratio of chicken mole filling to masa; I'd say 75% filling. It was warm and moist and oh, so delicious. Best tamale I've had in a long time. The tacos enmoladas were rolled chicken tacos that were first fried, and then covered in mole sauce, and topped with shredded lettuce and Oaxacan cheese. The perfect balance of crunchy and smooth, a bit sweet and a lot savory. Served with a side of crema for dipping. The portion was so large I couldn't finish it at lunch. The servers were friendly; a working knowledge of Spanish is helpful (but not necessary) here.Total including tip was about $23.Next time I'll try the tacos and burritos from the whiteboard menu. Highly recommended for a fabulous and reasonably prices Oaxacan meal.

What a wonderful food experience. The mole is the best I have ever had. They greet you with a smile the moment you walk in, they serve you homemade chips with the most flavorful mole you have ever tasted. I had the rolled tacos stuffed with chicken and drenched in mole. I had a smile with every bite. The server came by several times to check if I needed anything. I can't say enough good things about this out of the way and unassuming restaurant. Just try it, you will thank me later.
