Perfect spot to eat after going to the outlets. Servers speak mostly Spanish.Food is hella good, very fresh and fairly priced. I guarantee if you go to San Diego, food will be double the cost and definitely not taste as good. How to order: go look at the photos and order the most common items, that's what we did and it did not disappoint.Big fan of this place, would come again.

This food was not shy -- everything we tried here was rich and flavorful and super authentic. We stopped in on a Thursday afternoon for a late lunch, and it was pretty busy. Not a lot of parking, the interior of the restaurant felt cozy with some tightly packed tables and delicious aromas. We tried: Enmoladas con Pollo - The chicken was chicken, and the mole was absolutely bomb. A little on the runnier side and definitely heavy on the cocoa, the fresh tortillas soak it all up. Every bite was tender, meaty, and warming. Carne en su Jugo - yes, it's summertime and yes, I got the caldo, and yes, it was totally worth the abuela-status. The carne en su jugo was SO good. Rich meaty broth, with generous chunks of beef and bacon, and tons of delicious beans. Slightly spicy, super fresh and nourishing. Definitely worth trying.

I have been here twice because of the reviews and it is always an experience. I have tried a big menudo which was good but the broth seemed like tomato soup while the tripe was excellent and plentiful. Today I returned and tried the carne en su jugo, a soup that I love and have made myself. But the El Rincon version, which is highly reviewed, was extremely watery and flavorless, although it looked delicious. I could not taste the bacon at all. I wanted to like it but it just wasn't on point. And in both the menudo and carne soup cases, barely any onions and cilantro are provided, just a few bits on the plate, so I have had to ask for more each time. The toilet seat in the bathroom needs to be replaced! It slides everywhere!!I will continue to try this small but busy restaurant since it has such a devoted following.

Ok! The food is Fire! Homemade tortillas? Check.Perfectly seasoned carne asada and machaca? Check.A spicy salsa that I've never quite tasted anything like it before, but in a good way? Check.Did I get my money's worth? Check.I walked in here after yelping "breakfast burritos" near me, after coming from a dentist appointment. (Don't come at me, I was hungry, and I didn't want to eat before they looked at my teefs.)My Spanish is not so good, but the cashier and I were able to communicate effectively enough. I waited less than 10 minutes for my to-go order. The place had a like home vibe with the workers and customers chatting and saying their goodbyes as they left.Although as I was leaving, two liquor store loiterers blessed me with catcalls as I crossed the street. And as that was happening, simultaneously, a homeless person was peering into my car window hard, in search of opportunities... An interesting detour to get some delicious burritos, would you agree?

This has become a favorite stop on our way home from Ensenada/TJ in the morning! The food is absolutely delicious and always worth the wait! The restaurant is located on a small corner when you exit the freeway and is very easy to find. It does have a small parking lot, but you can usually find street parking nearby. The restaurant itself is also rather small so there is usually a line of people waiting to be seating, but trust me it's totally worth it! They have delicious and hearty authentic mexican food items on their menu, and our favorites are the chilaquiles and the menudo. Another must have is their cafe de olla, so delicious! Highly recommend giving this place a try, whether you are a traveler or live in the area, you'll be glad you did.

This little hidden gem has amazing food! Our server welcomed us as soon as we opened the door and told us to sit wherever we'd like. Right away came to us with menus and asked if we would like anything to drink. We both got their cafe de olla and it was sooooooo good! Vibe was awesome in there, people chatting and music in the background wasn't too loud. If you wanted pan, donut, or conchas they have a fresh selection that they bring to the table for you to pick out. Our food took a little to come out but that's what good food does....take time to be made! Can't rush perfection. We ordered the machaca breakfast plate with chilaquiles and the chorizo con huevos breakfast plate. Cafe de olla: 100/10 - so so so good! Machaca :100/10 - this machaca has to be one of the best I've had in a very very long time (and I go to Mexico once a month)Chilaquiles: 10/10 - the salsa on it was very tasty and the accompaniments on it were fresh!Beans: 10/10 - the beans were sooooo good! I'm not a big fan of beans and I ate all of mine! Fantastic!Chorizo con huevos: 9/10 - good chorizo but I wish it was more chorizo then huevo! I tasted huevo more than chorizo....it was still good though! We will definitely be coming back!

Great service. The horchata is amazing, and the chilaquiles are wonderful. It's definitely a longer wait compared to other expected times.

The food is as authentic as it gets! The service was good. The ambience looks a bit sketch. We ordered the chilaquiles, and menudo amongst other stuff I don't remember everything was great!Nothing special about the service however the owner did walk in and brought fresh Mexican pan dulce and just gave it away. Crazy! Yeah the area doesn't look the best, but hey you want authentic Mexican food next to Mexico well That's what you get.All in all, will come back if I'm in the area. Thank you for serving authentic real Mexican food!

Delicious! I came here for breakfast while my kiddos were taking the SAT at San Ysidro HS. I love Chilaquiles, and mole and ordered the Mole Chilaquiles with scrambled eggs ($14) and Cafe de la Olla ($4). First, they dropped off a basket of homemade corn chips with a warm refried beans sprinkled with cotija cheese. My entree came out a few minutes later. So good! The waitperson came by with a tray of Mexican pastries. I accepted one (didn't know it was $3, but now I know). The cafe de la olla was so yummy -- definitely on the sweet side. The wait staff was so nice and attentive. It's a bit of a trek for me from east county, but I'm sure we'll be back. FYI: service charge of 3% added for using my debit/credit card.
