Ordered 3 packages of 12 red pork tamales and they're mostly masa with maybe half a teaspoon of pork at the end of the tamale. Not impressed! I'll look elsewhere next time!

Is there anyone in the United States unfamiliar with hatch chili's? As with everything else in demand and with profit potential,the hatch chili has been used abused and yes counterfeited !No need to worry about authenticity though if you confirm that you are purchasing Young Guns. Prompt and courteous email correspondence. However, I ordered the Lent Special , two jars, beans, apron, and spoon. $62.I really wanted to support them after trying their brand having purchased it at a local store recently. Two jars were 36oz each. Apron=Dollar Tree and generic jalapeño print. Souvenir Kitchen Spatula with branded "Young Guns Chile"= Dollar Tree and could not read or see the logo. Emailed and they agreed "not the best" promo items. That was the only conciliation I received was that they agreed it was not very good. I sent pix to help rectify. Extra hot green was mild. (I know some crops vary but batches are tasted and bottled). So, I paid $31 per bottle. Being generous with 3-stars for their courteous, professional, and prompt responses.

I just picked my Chiles this morning at the store here in Oregon. I ordered 1/2 bushel of the Medium which were closer to Mild, which is okay they are for my wife. I ordered a whole bushel of the Hot and I came across maybe half a dozen chiles that any heat to them at all. Maybe a I got a mis-marked box? I don't know. But I paid a bunch of money for these and I really disappointed. I look forward to this time of year every year for the past 20 years. Feel like I got a bushel and a half of Mild Chiles. Can't say I would buy from Young Guns again.

Burned again with crap chile. Just a follow up on this chile ordeal. I found out that YG doesn't grow any of their chiles. They have multiple growers contracted to grow chiles for them. Bottom line is, there is no quality control. YG spells out in the contract what they want and their expectations. It's basically an Honor System Contract. How can you have quality control when you are shipping about 8 million pounds of chile every year? I will say that I did get a call from a very nice woman at YG and she explained to me how the system at YG works. I learned a lot. This is the problem when you become a conglomerate and the bottom line is....well, the bottom line. These guys have monopolized the market by contracting growers. Farms that were typically family run and operated. Thanks to YG's, that is no longer the case. There are a lot of growers in NM that know who these guys are and they quite frankly have no use for these jokers. They flood the market with their substandard product and people will buy it for no other reason than thats all customers can get their hands on. Amazing taste and accurate labeling of heat level of the green chile in the half-gallon and gallon containers.

I discovered Young Guns frozen chile in my Walmart store in Surprise AZ! Was using the other NM branded frozen green chile 'cause that was all I could get, which I believe are not as good as they sell in NM. Young Guns is absolutely amazing!! You cannot go wrong with this product!! And the smell...nothing better than that unique NM green chile smell every time I open the bag!! Heaven on earth. Never even knew about the Young Guns brand when I lived in NM for 50 yrs!! Thank you, Young Guns for your product!!!!
