It's def older, but the ladies, front desk were very nice and friendly. The lady in the evening who checked us in and the two who helped us with breakfast and check out in the AM. The bed and pillows were comfortable, clean and roomy. Plenty of space. Was quiet, no loud noise. It was empty upon check in and busy when we left so we didn't even hear everyone arrive. The TV was very old and the channels were kind of staticy with multiple Spanish channels haha but for a one nights stay and getting to the caverns it was good, no complaints. Per their information they had Apple or orange juice, cereal, muffins which is all you need and if you have an issue with it then you can go 25 min into town for breakfast. Not a bad deal. I'd stay again if i was driving through.

Staying here was an easy choice - it's the closest motel to Carlsbad Caverns and it's cheaper than staying in the city of Carlsbad. Yes, it is old and rundown, but it was clean and the lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful when we had one off requests (eg, a knife to cut oranges). They even include a very simple breakfast (cereal, milk and fruit).I feel like this would be a fun place to stay in the summer, when their water playground opens to guests. Sadly we were here in the spring before it opened.

Don't judge a book by the cover! This was a really good place to stay, for our Guadalupe Peak and Carlsbad Canyons adventures! The pluses were the very comfortable beds and pillow, spacious, clean, and quiet nice sized room. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and accommodated my request for a 2nd floor room. They gave us Carlsbad restaurant recommendations, since the Cactus Cafe, the only restaurant in White's City, closes at 3pm and is closed Sunday and Monday. If I had known how good their coffee was, I would have been down there all 3 mornings we stayed! This is a must stay place if you're planning on going to Carlsbad Caverns and/or Guadalupe National Park. The drive into Carlsbad to eat in the evening is only about 20 minutes. Although the place looks old and sort of run down on the outside, it's really a good place. I'd stay here again.

First time here. Door sticks and is hard to open and they could not care less. asked housekeeping to help us with door. Housekeeping has the personality of a toad. Time to take a shower and tub does not drain standing in sludge. Yuck!! This place sucks and I would not recommend it.

We drove 5 hours to get here, our plans are to see Carlsbad Caverns, checked in 8/6/2024, checked into my room, the first thing I did was kill 3 giant moths basically living in the corners of the wall, then I turned the TV on and it is snowy & very blurry, I informed the desk clerk she said that's the way they are, ice machine broken, the website says breakfast but it's only muffins, cereal and juice no hot food, my son was happy about the pool with a slide, but he got stung by a bee on the bottom of his foot, ouch! Not their fault about the bee, but it was kind of a last straw to an already long day, also no clock in the room, and the TV by the way is small besides being snowy! Not my cup of tea, originally booked for 2 days but canceled my 2nd day. I won't be staying here again. I'm surprised by the excellent reviews, but I always say don't trust excellent reviews.

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The AC worked great to cool us on a 110-degree July day! We didn't bring bathing suits but the pool(s) looked nice, with a cool pair of waterslides. We didn't expect breakfast, but they provided cereal and muffins, plus coffee and juice. (I would still advise you to bring your own breakfast though.) There is a fridge and microwave in the room. It was very convenient getting from here to the cavern. On the down side, our room door took a lot of jiggling to get open, every time. We always managed to open it, so we just laughed this off. No problem getting out from inside though. Also, there is no ice machine, but they will scoop you out a small container of it if you ask. Otherwise you can buy a bag at the store nearby. Overall we liked this place and would certainly stay here again.

I am SOO happy we came across this place while driving into Carlsbad Caverns. Don't look anywhere else in the city, this is the place to stay for the best bang for your buck. First and foremost, they are PET FRIENDLY! No weight limit and just $10 per pet. You won't find any place in town that beats that. Sure, the Motel 6 there doesn't charge for them, but just look at their reviews... it's a rough one. The front desk running the place was extremely friendly and some of the best customer service we have encountered during our week-long road trip across New Mexico (Valerie?). She was able to snag us a great room the night of. She even called us back to give us a heads-up to grab some food first because nothing is near this place besides a little convenience store/gift shop that had already closed. This store is fun as well to check out FYI, cool stuff for the kids to see. Another plus is we were short on time the next day to check out Carlsbad Caverns first thing in the morning before our journey back home to Austin, TX. This place is literally walking distance to the entrance vs. the 20+ minute drive if we were to stay in town. So, we were able to get in and out of the Caverns that morning in time to come back and checkout. It was very quiet and safe in the area. The room was HUGE with two beds. They also have a large (somewhat) grass area for the doggos to do their business which has been hard to find in places. We would 100% stay here again.

A friend and I stayed here overnight about a year ago on a road trip. As we drove up, we were greeted by a deer, so that was really cool (we're from phoenix, so that's an unusual sight). We had an upstairs room that was comfortable enough and huge. Plenty of space for me to do yoga in the morning. This place is also about as close to Carlsbad np as you can get, which was great. The price was high for what you get, but it's probably just for the location. I'd stay here again.

Great stay, close to Caverns. Not much in terms of decor, etc, but clean and the pool (much needed in this climate) is a lot of fun. Staff was nice and an easy although not elaborate breakfast starts the day out right. Definitely recommend if you're looking for inexpensive convenience!

This was the most disgusting hotel we spent the night at during our 11 day journey through the Southwest National Parks. We were greeted with dead black beatles (or cockroaches) all over the grounds and in front of our room. The room smell like it had just been fogged with insect killer. We would of left but would of lost our deposit, so we stuck it out.We pick it because it was close to Carlsbad Caverns but should of taken the time on the road to get a place in Carlsbad. Its a dump !!!!!!
