One of the bar stations that is absolutely covered in dust.

This bar doesn't usually pick up until later in the night, is say sometime after 10pm. A good place to drink and dance and meet new people. They make the drinks a little strong, but that just adds to the atmosphere. Staff as well as people that come here are very chill, and open to conversation. If you're looking to 2 step, this is the perfect place to go!! (I only put 4 stars just because I can't hold my alcohol! Nothing against the bar itself!)

Worst bar I have ever been to. Drinks are served in plastic cups, they are one of if not the only bar in Las Cruces to stay open after 12. They have apparently never heard of a duster since every bar cover is totally covered in dust. The crowd is washed up, a mix of college students and the local elders looking for a watering hole in an otherwise dying town. Drinks are weak and the music is even weaker. Here's a idea make a themed nights to entice specific crowds rather than trying to make this a melting pot of absolute crap.

Whiskey Dicks is in the neighborhood and wanted to hear a little country music. I get to the door and they ask to see my ID. I show the doorman my ID, he ask me to pull it out of my wallet. I go to pull it out - it doesn't come out smoothly. The doorman must've seen this as some type of resistance and barks out "If you don't like it the door behind you." Then tries to intimidate me with a glare. I wanted to leave at this point but was with friends and didn't want to ruin the evening. I worked as a doorman for five years in New York City and Las Cruces. Despite the nature of the job we were always taught to be courteous and make the customers feel welcome. If we felt that someone on our crew had bad people skills we didn't have them working the front door. Anyway, it was a disappointment from the beginning and it didn't get better.

I understand wanting to play music other then country to appeal to a larger range of people, however, if you go past 10pm you get maybe 4 country songs the rest of the night. But my biggest issue is the DJ. He plays the same songs. I went this weekend and last weekend and it's like he has a playlist set to play with the same songs. And he doesn't take requests. I miss boots and bourbon

Security at this place is a joke. Someone needs to train these guys. Isn't your job to prevent fights and escort people out the bar?? Instead you guys are jumping people? Including women !? Isn't that assault especially when the other person is trying to help stop the situation ?? Thats ridiculous. Get some new Security that are trained to handle the situation not start fights ! I witness how they handle situations and when I went to ask the manager why is she letting that happen she had me kicked out! The bouncers treated me like I was the one fighting ! I was respectful towards her and she was rude for no reason.

Very Sad that there's 3 pool tables & only 2 pool sticks. The dance floor had 4 two foot huge spots of spilled drinks & the accumulated dirt on it. Even after the female manager said she'd have someone mop it. Over an hour later Nothing done. I left. Liability knocking. . . .There are also several indents in the wood planks,, floor is usually sticky & I saw a couple trip while dancing. Total SHAME I didn't take my phone in so didn't get pictures. Will next time IF I ever go back

WD is the spot to be at in Las Cruces. If you haven't been then you are missing out. The drinks are great and the venue is safe.

If I could give 0 stars I would. After being at Whiskey Dicks for about 15-20 mins a shorter bouncer, didn't catch his name, approached my husband, who is African American, and asked he remove his beanie. Mind you he was allowed entrance from the bouncer at the door and endured the typical search they do for males with no issues. This was his first time at this establishment, and went so because of our wishes to go dancing, not his type of crowd but he was a trooper and obliged. After being asked to remove the beanie he simply asked why do I have to remove my beanie when almost every other man in here is wear a type of headwear whether it be a baseball cap or a cow boy hat? The bouncer said, I suppose they "missed it at the door" After this comment my husband went and asked a group of bouncers at the door what the requirement for headwear was seeing as how he had asked an abundance of questions upon entry to ensure he was following dress code because the another man in our party had been asked to remove him Dallas Cowboys jersey due to dress code. Which was posted near the counter where they take payment and check identification. Those bouncers also replied "I guess they just missed it" No where on the dress code posting did it say you were not allowed to wear beanies. Nevertheless my husband, instead of arguing his point, elected to leave as to not cause a disturbance. Obviously upset our group decided to leave and asked for a refund of our door entrance cost. Apparently because we had "been there for a while" Which we hadnt we had only been there maybe 20 mins tops, we had to speak with a manager about getting a refund. Upon speaking with the "manager" An average height light haired man with a T-shirt on we were notified that the headwear policy was to not allowed dorags however beanies were allowed. After his bouncers had already made my husband feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable did he apologize for the "misunderstanding". Apparently his bouncers were under the impression that his beanie was a dorag. The beanie looked no where near what a dorag looks like and the bouncers specifically told my husband to remove his BEANIE on multiple occasions. After speaking with this manager for a couple minutes he goes on to tell us his reasoning behind not allowing dorags, he explains that he is from "Memphis Tennessee" And in Memphis dorags are a sign that the person wearing it is in a gang. Obviously offended the women explained their issues with his reasoning. Yes they were a bit loud, they were offended, and proceeded to state that we are not in Tennessee we are in New Mexico and that the whole reasoning behind his dorag policy is misguided and frankly comes off a bit prejudice. He proceeded to refuse refund of their entry fee and called these women "asses" Because they rightfully so took offense to his tone and implications that dorags, which to us are simply a headwrap to protect a hairstyle no matter the race, we're offensive. And the fact that his bouncers couldn't tell the difference between a dorag and a beanie upon an African American man's head seemed a little racially motivated. Not to mention the bouncers around us started to threaten law enforcement on us because we were disagreeing with his reasoning. Also during this dispute another set of bouncers were rushing an overly intoxicated man out the door for "causing a disturbance" We witnessed this man purchase multiple drinks within the 20 minutes we were there and they didn't seem to cut him off until after it was too late, when they decided to escort him off the property, no law enforcement threats to the overly intoxicated man. However to a couple of females who were displaying warranted issues with a flawed policy, police are threatened right away. We walked in a group of happy go lucky friends and walked out reminded that there are still issues with race in this world. Not sure if it is meant to come off that way with their dress code but I do assure you we will never step foot in this establishment again as they made our whole party feel unwelcomed, uneasy and simply embarrassed. Do better whiskey dicks. Do better

This place is good for dancing if you are a professional. We went there and the dance floor felt so uptight, that we couldnt get out there and have fun. The bar staff was ok, the bouncers have no personality and make you feel like you're being watched inside prison walls. The people there are not kind, or even sociable. I would not recommend this place at all. If you're looking for a down to earth country place to dance and and have fun, this is not it.
