This aquatic center has two pools: the new olympic pool (opened April 7) and the old Leo Cancellare pool. The new pool is big, the water is a cooler temperature and it is deeper but had a shalow part in the middle. The old pool is smaller, water is a bit warmer, and shalow parts on the beginning and end. The building now has new locker rooms and showers etc. too. Bring: your own lock to shut the locker, shampoo/soap (no dispensers here), blowdryer if you need one (no blow dry machines).

I have been going to the Westside Natatorium for almost two years now. Today I was approached by your manager, Cindy and told me I wasn't wearing proper swimming attire and I needed to wear proper swimming attire if I wanted to come back.Just because I don't wear the traditional bathing suit does not mean I am not wearing proper swimming attire. I wear the below attire, and as you can see it is swimming attire made out of spandex. Swim shorts and spandex are similar to what most men wear and what I see them wear every day except they are for women. I don't wear anything that is cotton like yoga pants or anything of that nature. The style I buy my swimming attire, I buy because I have to be protected from the sun and I can wear this for outdoor swimming as well. I don't usually complain as I know everyone works very hard and they deal with a lot of different people every day but as you know swimming attire is expensive and for someone to tell me it is not swimming attire was insensitive and very very embarrassing. I am not the best swimmer and I am a senior and I look forward to getting my laps in at least three times out of the week and today's experience was very demeaning. I am not planning on returning but I do suggest your managers and other employees become familiar with what "swimming attire" is these days. I have seen swimmers in your pool with wetsuits for scuba, but to me it is swimming attire and so never did I think my swim trunks and swim shorts were going to affect the chemicals in the pool to the extent that I had to be told not to come back if I didn't have the proper attire.
