We were visiting El Paso on a teaching assignment for USDOT. We wanted to go to Texas BBQ and one of the students recommended we go to this business. We walked in and found it was not BBQ at all. It was a steak house. We found this after checking the menu. Not wanting to leave we stayed for dinner which turned out to be a good decision. The steaks were very good. One member of our party had the rib eye, another had the filet, and I had the New York. The only complaint was the horseradish could have been tempered down with sour cream for the filet dinner. One member of our group ordered the wedge salad. It was enough for the three of us to share. The price was reasonable, more so than what we have here in Washington State for prices. The service was prompt, and the server kept checking back with us to see if we needed anything. The business was clean and modern, not that of a high end steak house, but a comfortable place to eat with friends and family.I would visit this restaurant again, hopefully with my wife next time.

This restaurant needs improvement with their service & food!!! Food & service is always on point, however, tonight it was beyond disappointing! The ambiance is great for a family reunion, date night, and/or a great place to enjoy a delicious steak. Service was horrible! Need to train their staff better because she did not bring out our salads before our main entree. Our steaks were cold, since they brought it all together. It took 5 minutes to get their attention to bring us salt & pepper; mind you our waitress NEVER came around to ask us if our steak was cooked to our liking or simply just to check if we needed anything. There was a plastic lid to a container in my cilantro rice. Not sure how the cooks did NOT notice before bringing out the food. On hindsight, it was disappointing & disgusting & I give this zero stars because their cooks, staff, & including managers should have caught this before the food was served to a customer. An all around terrible experience from the service to the food!!! Please refer to the pictures provided. This should NEVER happen to a customer at a steakhouse restaurant.

Service- Friday night dinner wait was only 5 minutes. However, big group wait was about 30 minutes. Angel, server, very nice and prompt with drinks. Angel, server, must have been in training because he was slow in coming back with a requested such such pepper, more ranch etc. It was a busy place,But you gotta up your game on busy nights.Ambiance- I like the decor with the full size trees with lights and white leaves. Noise level way to LOUD! I really enjoyed the upbeat country music.Food- muscato by the glass is always sweet just like it (Paolona, Italy). House salad could have been better. It was a large size and only two 1/4 tomatoes. 12 oz rib-eye medium rare was out of this world. Moist, savory and tender. Baked potato was big and was ok.

Though they were a little busy, they fit us in. The steak was cooked well (good) and the natural flavor shined through. Good experience and meal overall

Traveling for work, this restaurant is close to the hotel I'm staying at. I called just now to find out if reservations are necessary, when I called the first time I was hung up on, like the phone was slammed down on the base. I called back, it rang about 4 or 5 times after being picked up, it went immediately to hold music. Was on hold for about 9 minutes before a female answered, by this time I was annoyed, and simply asked if I need a reservation, she responded and said they don't do reservations for parties less than 3 people, and that they accept walk ins all day; then I asked if it was currently busy, she said the wait right now for 3 people is about 90 minutes, and then hung up on me. After reading the other reviews about customer service, I can completely understand the other customer's experience and ratings. I will be finding somewhere else to have dinner.

For my first ever visit to El Paso, I arrived late on a Friday night. Starving but also craving a steak, I drove down the street after getting my rental car and picked a steakhouse that was close to the hotel. West Texas Chophouse was the winner that night. I walked in and was greeted by the manager and I told him I was just looking to grab a bite to eat but I didn't know if reservations were required. The restaurant was packed with people. He got me a small table near the kitchen and the rest is history. As I was walking to the table, I took note of how classy it was. I saw several couples here and it's definitely a place you could take a date. Since steak is my death row meal and I was in Texas, it was a no-brainer on what I was going to eat. I ended up with a dry-aged bone-in ribeye with sauteed mushrooms and a baked potato. First came the bread, which was fantastic. Round, warm rolls with a fluffy inside served with butter. I could have eaten a dozen of them but I had to be careful not to get too full. The steak arrived on a wooden cutting board with the mushrooms and baked potato. It was a nice presentation for sure. Everything tasted great and was exactly what I was looking for. The star of the show was obviously the steak. Dry-aging changes the flavor profile of beef due to reducing the moisture cotent. It's often described as "earthy" or "nutty" but I relate it more as a pungent-like taste, similar to that of bleu cheese. It was cooked to perfection and I ate everything. Even scraped the meat off the bone. I know there's a lot of steakhouses in El Paso and while I tried a lot of them during my week stay, West Texas Chophouse is definitely one of the better ones.

Lovely! Great for date nights or small gathering. They changed the menu which is a bit disappointing but the food is still great nonetheless.

I was hoping for some quality Texas meats. Instead, the food quality was about on the level with Chili's. I asked the waitress if she thought I should order the ribeye tacos. She recommended a burger instead. It was decent but nothing out of the ordinary. That said, it was a decent meal at a good price, and our kids enjoyed their food. Our table had no silverware or napkins when we sat down and it took a while to get some. The ambience was nice. Good decor and not too loud.

We celebrated my son's birthday. It was a rough start since the hostess could not find my reservation. Jonathan, the GM got us seated and his disposition made an otherwise stressful situation a wonderful time. The food was amazing!!! Cooked perfectly. From a Tomahawk pork chop, ribeye, New York strip, to their staple green chile soup - delicious! Oh let me recommend their ribeye chicharrones! Chef's kiss
