Vaquero Grill

Very clean, family run spot inside a Valero. Food is quickly cooked to order. Counter staff was very helpful. The gas station patrons were a mixed bag. Along with the foul mouthed gas station clerk, they put on quite a show. May want to get your food to go for a quiet lunch. The flautas and carne asada burrito supreme were very filling and affordable at $15.45 total.

This is a fresh new (2020) grill located inside a older Exxon station. I believe this used to be a Subway since there was one at this address before, but it's hard to see that now. It's a bit out of place in just how nice the one side of the store looks compared to the other, but if you can get over that part of it you'll find the cooks/servers are well dressed in crisp uniforms and have a pleasant attitude. The restaurant is named for the local mascot of the high school, the "Vaqueros". The menu is a bit of a hodge-podge of burgers, burritos, shakes and pizzas. Food is made-to-order. The burger I ordered was good, the roll was particularly nice and fresh, and the fries had a sort of onion ring consistency.If you are looking for warm food and a quick pick me up, this is a good choice.
