Valverde Store

Bought our green chili during the hatch festival at Valverde store over the Labor Day weekend got back home to Phoenix on Tuesday and roast it, the chili was fresh and very delicious. I will be back next year for more green chile. Thank you Valverde owners.

We stopped by for chile and pottery and left with both. We got hot and medium chiles roasted, a full 50 pounds of each. While the owner was roasting it, we got some beautiful hand painted pots. They had the best selection in town. I'll definitely come back to get some more the next time I'm in town

We stopped in here during a visit to Hatch this fall. We had a long chat with Letty, the charming and efficient owner, about green chile sauce and bought a few jars of both their red and green sauces. They're excellent. Not too hot (medium rated) and very flavorful. We also bought a ristra, which traveled well to the West Coast and then back to St Louis, and which is now hanging in our kitchen. Their pottery selection is excellent and well priced. We didn't have room for anything large, so passed on buying any pots this time. We'll come back and try again soon. The only thing that keeps me from offering five stars is the relatively low stock of sauces. That may be just be the result of our timing--we were there in October.

This store is amazing. We are from Tucson, AZ & we stopped on the water to Albuquerque. Lety was fantastic. We purchased some salsa & it was so good we just placed an order & she is having it shipped to our home. I highly recommend them they have lots of great items, you won't be disappointed

The worst chile we have ever received! My mother was sent 2 bags of chile for her birthday. She was so excited to receive this special request from her grandson only to see the contents of the 2 bags sent were old yellow moldy pieces, which most likely are unsalvageable! Several attempts to speak with Letty only proved she knew the quality was bad but claimed it would taste fine. Mold will taste fine?

They usually do a good job with chili but this year, it was impossible to peel and the chili was very poor quality. Beware before buying.
