Tortugas Mountain Trail

Very nice hiking trail with nice views and easy drive. Only few miles from the city. Best time is in the morning

You want to do something fun. I highly recommend climbing the tortugas observatory mountain especially if you into hiking. It takes about an hour to climb less if you an export. Beautiful sunset but you can go anytime. They even have a bike trail which I never new about. Something to experience in life.

This is a fun hiking trail that is close to Las Cruces, offering nice views of the city on one side of the trail and great views of the Organ Mountains on the other side. This is the perfect hike if you're looking for a little bit more to your workout than just a walk. It measures out at 4 miles, has some ups and downs, and is well marked with ample parking at the many trailheads. We like to do this hike to get a higher calorie burn that we get from a flat walk and take in the views while exercising! I would recommend hiking boots to navigate the uneven terrain in spots, and poles may also be helpful.

One of Las Cruces scenic views. It's best to visit before sunset as one can see the horizon. The Monte Vista Hiking Trail Parking Lot is small, so one may need to arrive early to secure a spot. Wear sneakers or hiking shoes because the trail is hilly with lots of pebbles.
