Adorable, quiet, beautiful weather and mountains. Friendly owners who are very accommodating. Stayed 2 nights and couldn't be happier. Camp room was cool in summer. We opted to upgrade to a room with A/C the second night as I am a wus. DON't WORRY. KITTY WILL NOT BE NEAR YOUR ROOM. She keeps far away from you unless you call her. Pool stayed very cool even though it was August. Something about the altitude. Place is Very clean and inviting. This is a cute town and is near the McDonald Observatory, parks etc. Few restaurants but the two we visited were good. The Stone Village grocery next door is highly rated and very quaint. Love this place!

Stopped here overnight on a drive from Austin to Tuscon. A friend recommended we stay here despite being out of our way and so I called ahead of time to reserve a room and the person on the phone was very helpful. We arrived at around 1am and our room was unlocked and ready for us and we slept wonderfully. We woke up the next morning refreshed and greeted by something like 6 or so wonderful cats of whom I've attached a few pictures. The rates were reasonable and if I ever find myself in this part of the country again I will be sure to come back to stay the night.

This is a comfy clean hotel. The staff works hard to keep this place in good shape. The towels are practically new. They also provide you with an extra heater in the closet. I would definitely come back to this place.

Didn't realize until we we got here, but this is apparently owned by the same folks that own Paisano. I get it. It's amazing. We stayed in cabin #1 on the end. The chairs, the sloped ceiling, spacious, clean, warm (which was important because it was so cold and windy when we arrived). It's a secret gem. We just stopped over on our way back from New Mexico (because we are BIG fans of the region). I wish we were staying longer. There's a pool, several nearby state and national parks, of course the McDonalds Observatory.. but back to the cabin... well appointed, quaint and peaceful. So much yes

Ft Davis hotels can be a bit spendy. This place is a true bargain and gem. Converted CCC buildings - camp or motel style as fits your budget. It's cozy, comfy and clean. The owners are super nice. There's even a pool! A/C and free wifi. The market next door is a great place to grab your picnic foods.

We stayed here on a trip to McDonald Observatory. Mind you, Ft. Davis is a small town so your hotel options are limited (no big chains here) but we found this to be a very pleasant and conveniently-located choice. What a quaint little hotel!!! It reminds me of the type of small, family-run hotels that I like to stay in while traveling small towns in Europe. It is obviously an older property but has been renovated and well-maintained. The room was a bit small (hence the 4 instead of 5 rating), lacked a refrigerator and microwave, but was very clean and comfortable: wood floors, a nice, soft bed, a writing desk, and a little sitting area in the corner with two chairs and ottomans. The bathroom is also quite small and would be difficult to navigate for a large individual. (If you're a multitasker and like to brush your teeth WHILE sitting on the toilet then you're in luck!!). We didn't have time to use the pool, but it looked very inviting. The hotel is conveniently located in town, within walking distance to most points of interest and next to a small grocery store. The store serves morning coffee (free to guests of the tourist camp), carries a lot of natural food products and has a deli with made-to-order sandwiches and a few tables. We ate here twice and enjoyed the very substantial sandwiches (large enough to share), the homemade soup ($1.99), and the homemade cookies and brownies. I would definitely stay here again!!!

Definitely deserving of the #1 ratings. Super clean inside and out, super quiet, and friendly staff. My only complaint was that the lighting was dim - only two small lamps made it difficult for my 88-year old dad to see. We would appreciate having a light kit added to the ceiling fan. It isn't fancy like a big chain, but that isn't why you come to Ft Davis, is it? Instead it was like stepping back in time to this old gem, updated such that it retains the old charm without compromising on modern amenities. You'll love it!

Great place to stay in Ft. Davis . The rooms are clean , the property is well maintained and the market next door is a jewel to have for re-supply after hiking all day . My wife and 2 kids and I stayed here for 3 days and we were very pleased . Randall and his staff at the Tourist Camp ( what they call their motel ) and the market were a delight . We plan to come back when we are in the area .

Such a cute place but we were disappointed. WiFi did not work. Management did not seem to care. We had to turn the water at the toilet when we arrived. Hot water for the shower took a good 20 minutes to heat and was still not hot then it ran out before a second person could finish showering.
