Great spot in Alpine, TX. Set in the Old Ritchey Hotel, this bar is in a big homey-feeling space with hardwood floors and small rooms. Pretty bar space up front with several taps and plenty of canned and bottled selections-along with a solid wine list. We had a Bishop's Crackberry Cider (Bishop's is based in Dallas and makes fantastic no-sugar added fruit ciders), a glass of Pinot Noir, and Pint and Plow IPA (P&P is a Kerrville Brewery). The bartender was friendly and attentive. We were thrilled to find this place open on Christmas Eve-they even had live music in the upstairs area. They also have a great beer garden that we will want to visit in warmer weather. This is a can't-miss spot while in Alpine!

I moved to Alpine about 6 months ago. Still working out being a local! I like going to the Ritchy. It is relaxing and pretty darn cool. The two musical guests I have seen here so far were amazing. I havent had any bad experiences here and I know I will keep going. If you're here from out of town, it is a wonderfully relaxing, friendly, fun place!

Great service, atmosphere and beer options! They also have a nice outdoor area that allows dogs. Would definitely be sure to go back again if we were in the area.

Great atmosphere, but not good management. I've been ignored while standing at the bar several times waiting to order a drink. The last time I went, I was charged for one more drink than I actually ordered. I told the bartender, who tried to tell me it was right, then accused me of lying about how many drinks I ordered. He corrected it and gave me my correct tab (or rather slammed it down on the bar in front of me and walked away), but never refunded my original tab. I ended up being charged $26 for what should have been a $10 tab. He did not apologize for the mistake made and did not give me a receipt so I couldn't get properly refunded. Essentially stole $15 from me, I will never be going back. Which is really a shame, the atmosphere is wonderful, the customer service and general politeness is horrible.

This is the place to go on a weekend evening. Great drinks, some snacks and dessert, and often there's live music. Most of all the atmosphere and the service make you feel right at home. Everyone was so nice and so much fun! We will return!

This is a hidden gem in Alpine. Great history, good selection of beer and wine. The staff is super friendly and we've met some great people to socialize with. Highly recommend! Don't leave Alpine before visiting, you won't be disappointed.

What a terrific spot in Alpine! Great drinks, and awesome food. We had some killer tamales and tacos here. They have a lovely patio and live music to enjoy. It seems this place is managed by a feller named Moose, who is a little black dog that is unaware that he's a lil dude. He barks it like he sees it and he watches everything and runs around like he owns the place and you are probably not gonna convince him otherwise. :-D keep up the good work, Moose. I am so happy we found this in Alpine. It is absolutely wonderful.

We came here twice while staying in Alpine after a trip to Big Bend National Park. The first night we enjoyed the ambiance and the beers on draft. We came back on Thanksgiving and enjoyed a delicious T'day dinner by Chef Christine. This was the only place in town serving Thanksgiving dinner so we were grateful it was a delicious option. We will definitely be back in the future and hope to hear some live music.

This is a great place to get a drink, sit outside and take in the incredible Texas sky. Plus, there's good food and an impressive selection of beer and wine. I also appreciated that the locals are really nice and offered a number of suggestions about things to do in the area. The second time I visited Alpine I tried a few other places, but ended up back at the Ritchey. Nothing compared.

I can't say enough great things about this place! Is it the incredible selection of beer, wine and even gluten free ciders? Is it the historic old building that makes you feel like you're in an old western saloon? The super nice owner? Friendly bartenders? Outdoor patio that has live music all summer? The sunset views from the "parlor" balcony? The parties and occasional costume night? I love it all.
