The Outlaw Saloon at Licon's Dairy in San Elizario is a delightful mix of rural charm and unapologetically good food. Imagine a place where burgers are not only made from high-quality beef but seasoned with a level of care that's becoming rare. These are no sad, grey patties - they're vibrant, flavorful, and fresh off the grill. I had the chile relleno burger, generously stuffed with local asadero cheese, creating a messy, cheesy masterpiece. My dining companion opted for the hatch green chile burger, a spicy wonder that kicked hard but kept you coming back for more. Service was extremely fast and friendly. Burgers here come with waffle fries, but I upgraded to sweet potato fries, which arrived with a sweet dipping sauce that was as unexpected as it was delicious. We also started with chips and queso - fresh cheese makes all the difference, trust me. And then there's the setting - the restaurant is attached to a functioning dairy and petting zoo. You can practically hear the cows and goats while you're enjoying your meal, which adds a certain rustic charm to the experience. It's not just a meal; it's a weekend day trip that sticks with you.

Looking over the internet for the next place to eat is almost always a chore but Outlaw Saloon stood out almost immediately. Any restaurant using green chili and in house made cheese is going to strike my fancy. Yes the drive is out in the boonies. Expect to to think you're lost, it's about then that you're almost there. The saloon is connected to and supplied by the Lincon Dairy. They share a building. The dairy closes before the saloon so get there earlier if you intend on buying cheese or other dairy products. They also have a little zoo with animals across the parking lot. We didn't venture over, but maybe next time with the kids. We arrived and it didn't look like much outside. Metal buildings and nothing too fancy. There's an outside dining area that mirrors the inside though. The perfectly stained old wood sets the perfect setting for this place. It's not big but it still probably sits about 30 comfortably. They offer coke in a plastic bottle or their house made lemonade (which actually tastes more like lime). The lemonade is not super sweet, but it was definitely good. The only thing I'd say is that it could have had more ice- it was a little warm for my taste. The food was delicious. Try the chips and queso. The queso has a very delicious flavor that keeps you coming back for more. We also got the stuffed peppers for an appetizer and that was so good, I'm going to have to make those at home. Such a simple idea but the cheese in them really stands out. All the cheese in these dishes is the most fresh and tasty you are going to find. My husband ordered the burger with cream cheese and while it was good, he said it needed more jalepenos and maybe some bacon on top. Cream cheese is a bit dry and it almost has a drying effect on the burger. He liked it, but said he would not order that one again. I took a taste and the cream cheese almost made the flavors mute. My burger however was the chili relleno burger and it was amazing! The flavor was there, the freshness of the chili and the cheese was the perfect pairing. The waffle fries were okay, a bit under done. My husband loaded his fries with queso and he enjoyed his more. I will say the burger patty could have been cooked a little less. And next time I may request that. The flavors were there though. For dessert they had flan. A few different flavors. Unfortunately flan isn't something either of us enjoys, but if you do- I bet the ingredients are going to blow the flavor away. I'd love to go back and try the Mac and cheese, tacos, loaded nachos and a few other things. Maybe in time. Until then I'll recommend this place as a good family or date spot.

This place is connected yo the Licon Dairy and Petting Zoo. After feeding and visiting the animals with our $1 yes just ONE dollar, bags of corn purchased in the story ( One bag is plenty for two or three children) we decided to try the Outlaw Saloon. The food was good, fairly priced. We enjoyed burgers, the billy the kid nachos and chicken tenders with bottles of soda pop for 2 adults, teenager and a child. $68 including tip. Service was friendly. Clean bathrooms for washing up after feeding the animals. Easy parking and fun for an impromptu stop. We'll be back next time through visiting family.

Decided to stop by, even though this is about a 37 mile drive for us. Service was friendly and attentive. Food arrived quickly, and my wife devoured her chile relleno burger and waffle fries, while I could only finish the meat of a smaller portion ribeye and two sides. Ordered medium well, it was still juicy and not dried out. While they don't yet have their liquor license, the wine-based margarita was good. Will have to stop by and try other entrees to see how good they are. Worth a trip back, even for us.

TL;DRBurgers are really good. Get the sweet potato fries.Wow, this was an amazing burger. I tasted the quesadilla burger, the Chile relleno burger, waffle fries, and sweet potato fries. The Chile con queso made them both amazing. The burgers were cooked correctly--juicy. The sweet potato fries with the cinnamon dipping sauce was delicious. Definitely coming back. Wish the bar had more on tap--didn't see any taps at the bar actually.

We stopped in out of convenience and were hoping for an average burger but we were blown away! We both had the hatch chili burgers and they were the best burgers we've eaten in a long time. The meat was grilled just right and was juicy and tasty. Extra cool that they used cheese from the on-site dairy! The kids meals came in cute little wagons that the kids loved. If we lived near El Paso this would definitely be our go to burger place.
