In the past 8 years, Providence Memorial Campus has quickly become my second home. In 2013, I was diagnosed with leukemia and I was immediately admitted to their pediatric oncology unit known as Jungleville. My oncologist is Dr Roberto Canales. When it comes to his team in Jungleville, they are God sent. Many have moved away but the ones left that are the best nurses that I have ever had are Lulu and Jaime. I don't know what I would have done without them during my treatment. Thank you Jungleville nurses for everything

My only concern so far has been with the cafe. I was eating my 10$ quesadilla and fries. As I was eating, I saw several gnats flying around my food. I shooed them but I saw several land on my food. I killed the ones that were on my food, but who wants to eat food with bugs on it. So wasted half my food. I give 4 stars only because of care the doctors and nurses gave my wife.

Went last night with my significant other as she was feeling Covid-like symptoms. We were seated and called about 45 minutes later. The nurse rudely told us I couldn't go with her even though I might've been exposed as well. When she went back, there was couple back there which begged the question, why didn't they allow us back? I was then told to leave back to my vehicle while she went to get checked out. They DID NOT TAKE HER TEMPERATURE! She was tested and told she'd receive results by phone in 2 hours. She was told that she would have her prescription sent to her nearest Walgreens. After being discharged, she called the hospital after 2 hours and was told they can't give her the results over the phone. She was then told to fill out a document that was emailed to her and have it sent back in order to get results. She emailed the document back filled out and was denied the results once again. She then let the staff know that her child needed to attend school and she needed to know the results so she could know whether she could take her to school and not miss a day. They denied showing her the results a third time. She went to her designated Walgreens and they did not have her prescription. The order was never sent. She was told she needed to come back to the hospital and went back today and she was told they spelled her name wrong when they input it in the system. She waited another hour just to be told that she was positive and that they didn't give her the results because the hospital made a mistake writing down her name. Now, because of the hospital's negligence, we were made to wait almost 2 days for her to receive results and made her go back and forth to the hospital, which made the potential for having spread COVID go thru the roof! If they had done their job properly and and taken the time to do it correctly, we would've had results the same night, had the prescription and been quarantined instead of going back to an ER full of patients which would be at risk. They were rude, disregarded whether or not the info was written down correctly, and denied her from knowing the results when they stated they would. They prolonged her suffering for absolutely no reason. They made her jump thru hoops and attempt to cut thru their red tape.We are both people of color.Would they have written another person's name correctly and given them their results in a timely fashion if their skin was a different color? Is it disregard and discrimination because of color???I'll let you make that call...There are so many attorney's and activist groups that would love to hear about this. And hear about it they shall.

If I could give this hospital zero stars I would. My experience with my toddler was awful and traumatizing. I should have known it was going to be awful when the doctor told me right away before anything my daughter was going to stay for three days. He never came to speak to me on the last day she was there to give me a diagnosis for her. The echo specialist was really rough with my daughter and seemed to think it was okay to be man handling her. When I complained about this all the nurses said it was normal and that's how it is so basically deal with it. I'm sorry but that's not how you deal with a child. She was over whelmed and clearly distressed from all the testing. I get it's hard to handle children but they can offer breaks for kids. She's a toddler so she doesn't understand what's going on or how to express herself. The nurse Lety was very rude to me about my decisions as a parent and not wanting to do certain test on MY daughter. I am her advocate and her voice. If I chose not to do something I'm not comfortable with that should be respected without questioning me or undermining my decision as a mother. She was very rude and spoke over me and threatened to not get my daughter the test she needed if I didn't follow through with the test she wanted. She also gave me unsolicited advice about getting my daughter evaluated for her behavior because something isn't right with her. I've worked with people with special needs and taken courses on child development. I think I'm qualified to determine what my child needs. I would never ever want to take my child here again as the staff is rude and never gave me good answers. Avoid taking your child here if possible. I talked to the director of nursing here. She was very nice and after we talked the staff seemed to back off. All other departments my daughter saw were great with her but I would never want to give this place business with my child ever again after that experience. If you want to work with helping children show some compassion and understand meant both to the child and parents. There are a few other details I could go on about but those are the main things that upset me.

Up until the last thirty minutes of my trip to this hospital, it was a 5 star experience. I haven't been deterred from going to this hospital again, but I may only choose it over its neighbor, Las Palmas (they are literally next to each other), if I can't muster enough tears to ensure good bed-side manners from every RN.I've been sick with at least three different things in the past month or so. Every time I got over one sickness another would start just days later, but nothing some bed rest and OJ couldn't cure... until last week. Last week on my flight back to EP I had an excruciating pain on the entire left side of my face. It started getting harder for me to hear and a couple of days later I was having trouble breathing. Being the sometimes melodramatic person that I can be, I was positive that I was slowly and painfully floating away into the darkness of my death. In between my tears and general neediness, my boyfriend convinced me to go to the ER.We walked into Providence to only find a handful of people in the waiting room that all seemed to be getting shuffled into sterile rooms rather quickly. A hospital that moves fast? Unheard of! After filling out my paperwork, i was directed to a room in less than five minutes. After getting changed into that awful one-size-fits-all (one size does NOT fit ALL) we looked around the room and realized the ER is being timed. They are actually making sure the nurses and doctors are getting to you in a timely fashion. A RN arrived that wasn't actually my RN, but he was checking in to make sure I was okay and he went ahead and hooked me up to the monitors. My doctor arrived a short time later and was extremely reassuring that I'd be okay. He even began explaining what he thought it could be (in laymen terms) based on the different factors and how he would treat them. There aren't very few moments in my life where I need someone to hold my hand and walk me through something, but this was one of the few instances and I appreciate that I never had to say, "So what does that mean?"A little while later my actual RN, Tabitha, appeared and was ready to get my treatment started. She really was great. She kept a smile throughout, tried to keep me smiling and got my vein on the first try (always my one prayer when I'm being poked and prodded). It turned out Tabitha's shift was about to be over and another nurse came by to help her. I was in a lot of pain still, but these two kept me laughing and put my mind to ease. Even though I was still having trouble breathing and hearing, I was a lot further from my death cry than I was before I walked into this hospital.Slowly my throat actually started to open back up. My hearing was still shot, but I could breathe! Which okay, fine... they're a hospital, they better have fixed me, but still... the process was smooth and light and exactly what I needed when I was always moments away from sobbing hopelessly into my boyfriend's arms. And then my new RN came in. Debbie Downer. He sucked all hope out of me. Was almost defensive about my situation and literally told me, "You're going to be really sick for a long time... like weeks, even a couple of months." When I asked if breathing could become hard again he just shrugged his shoulders and said, "Yeah, maybe. Probably." Then I had to press to see if that were to happen what the process would be going forward to which he seemed uncertain. Here we are, about four days later, and lack of air is no longer an issue for me. My hearing hasn't cleared yet, but breathing was the only thing I as worried about. I almost gave Providence a 3 star rating because Debbie Downer didn't even seem to have ever worked in the medical field, but the fact of the matter is everyone else was absolutely perfect and made me peaceful in what was a stressful situation, all the while treating my ailments to the point where I'm no longer bedridden 24-hours a day. If everyone else is doing a fantastic job, I can deal with one Debbie Downer at the end of my trip.

This is a TERRIBLE emergency room to go to. I've been to level 1 trauma ers that are having severe crisis going on and not been made to wait so long. I was there, in the patient room, for 2 hours before the doctor came in to do absolutely nothing. Then FINALLY we were getting some attention and then it was shift change. I would rather saw off my arm then come back! This is going on hour 4 and I am no close to going home!Update: not only did the service suck and waste my time now I'm stuck with dealing with my insurance company because of a bill that came to me instead of them. Definitely give this place a -5 stars!

I've been to the ER 3 times and received great care. I had 2 admissions to the ICU, and the nursing care was great. The hospitalist worked with my personal physicians. The food isn't great, but it's tough to make institutional food tasty.

Worst hospital ever! No one contacted me before surgery about how much I would need to pay. Day of the surgery I was told that I would owe $6500 I told them my max out of pocket was $5000 or $6000 so she said pay the $6000 or sign up for a payment plan. I paid the $6000 After all the claims were filed and my insurance paid - my out of pocket was $2600 so I overpaid the hospital $3400 and now the hospital refuses to refund the money. I now have other medical bills I need to pay but can't because PROVIDENCE HORRIBLE HOSPTIAL STOLE MY MONEY!!!! My insurance called 3 weeks ago about the status of the refund and was told they had the Explanation of Benefits and it would be 30 to 45 days to process the refund. Today I called 915 577 6011 to ask about the refund. The representative got all my info then when I said I was asking about a refund. He said he did not handle this hospital that I had called a 1800 number. Really 915 577 6011 is a 800 number, the number that is listed on the hospital website? Next, I called my insurance company and asked them to call, my insurance company said they the hospital told them they did not have my explanation of benefits, but 3 weeks ago they had it. Now I am told I have to print and take the explanation of benefits to the hospital because they won't accept it from by insurance... the same one they had in hand 3 weeks ago? WOW!!! Don't get me started on the care. I I could go on and on about the sub-par care! If you live in El Paso do yourself a favor and leave town for medical care.

I wish we could give a no stars review. My sister was taken to Providence Memorial Campus because she took a bad fall while recovering from a stroke. After the wonderful experience she had at the Sierra Providence Campus I was surprised and appalled at the lack of care at Memorial. THIS IS WHAT I WITNESSED DURING HER STAY. She arrived on Friday afternoon and left the following Thursday. Not once during this time was she provided with any bed bath. In fact, when they brought her in and she was put into a hospital gown they did not even remove her bra. Because of her level of pain and inability to communicate easily, I didn't realize this until I helped her change gowns on the last day and found the raw places it had rubbed on her torso and shoulders. When I asked the nurse at the front desk if sponge baths were no longer part of routine care I received a vacuous look with the reply of, "Well, yes. But did your sister ask for one?". The sister who had difficulty communicating due to her stroke??? When I asked for a washrag and towel to at least wash her the best I could, the nurse at the desk gave me an irritated look and shoved literally 4-5 towels and 10 wash clothes at me. When I visited my sister, I frequently found her sitting in wet clothing and bedding. Urine soaked bedding was left piled on the floor of her room. One day the urine collection jug-, something that looked like it held at least half a gallon, was so full to overflowing that they had to spill some on the floor just to get it taken down and emptied. Another day I arrived to find my sister desperate to get help to go to the bathroom, something I couldn't help her with. She said she had been waiting over 25 minutes. She rang the nurse again and tried to ask for help. I HEARD the nurse's response that they had already put the request over the intercom, whatever that means. Then, I don't think she realized she had not clicked off and she made a very irritated, snide comment. I finally had to walk to the desk and repeat my sister's request for help . I found people sitting around, no urgency to get anything accomplished, and one of them texting away on their phone. I was so relieved to finally get her transferred out of that place.
