I signed my lease with SUMMERSTONE APARTMENTS back in October 2021. There was a couple malfunction with the unit not so bad. The real problem was when I got my second light bill (first bill was only 16.00 for the connection fee from EP Electric) my bill was $603. I automatically assume there was something wrong with my bill. I called EP Electric after crying on the phone for an hour they told me send someone to check my meter, so they did. After the meter reading came back as normal I called again and requested an audit which they did come back and everything was working fine on they're end. At this point I had already called Amanda the manager and she was really helpful told me to keep her updated. I called her to let her know what EP Electric had told me and she decided to send electricians over.. after a couple of attempts the electrician figured out there was something wrong with the unit(#401) due to the December holidays Amanda was out of town so I understand. When I got a hold of her she said and I quote "what are you asking for me to do" I explained that it wasn't all my usage there was something wrong with the unit and my next hills were coming high too(as explained by EP Electric) Amanda explained her hands were tied and the issue was fixed. The only thing she could do it deduct 300 from January and 300 from Februarys rent because we didn't know my accurate usage and her tenants usually pay 300 or so the apartment. At this point I decide to move out instead because my next other bill looked the same and her solution wasn't enough and I understand her hands are tied but I could not afford to be paying that for electricity on top of my 1300 rent with all this being said I learned my lesson and I hope this helps someone. If you're trying to rent deep dive into review(which I did) but also you can call the utilities and get an average of how much the previous tenant paid. I have voice recording and my bills are attached below & if anyone wants to help $janett91 is my cashapp thank you and I hope this helps!

The space you get for the price is phenomenal. You are next to 2 arterial highways and can be anywhere in El Paso within 20 minutes. The staff is professional and courteous and does a lot to make this small complex feel like a community. Only reason we left was to move into a family house. Great place to live!

Stop and read this review before you consider this apartment complex as a potential home. I've lived here over 3 years. The complex has had 4 managers in that time frame. The managers and the regional managers do not care about the residents. They only care about getting the apartments filled. If you're looking for a clean and quiet surrounding, this is not your place. If you complain about anything, they will ask for proof, pretend they didn't receive it and then ask for it again. Your calls and complaints will simply be ignored. Walk the grounds and you'll find dog excrement everywhere. The patios are filled with junk; mops, trash, etc. The swimming pool is small and on weekends, it's taken over by large families. The noise goes on all night. They charge almost $1000 and do not provide a gym or a laundry room and the grassy area they call a park, is generally filthy. They have 1 maintenance person who works very hard to keep everything afloat. This is probably the only thing they have going for them. AND THE PARKING!! There is none. Literally, they built enough parking to house 1 tenant per apartment. If you have 2 cars, you'll have to pay an additional fee or rent a garage. Safety is another thing. Sure it's gated, but anyone can park their car and walk right through the side gates without a problem. I have covered parking and my vehicle has been broken into. Fire lanes are blocked with parked cars because there is no parking, specifically on the weekends. I plan on moving once my contract comes due. If you plan to rent here, take a walk around and talk to other residents; preferably not the ones the manager chooses.Good luck!

I wrote a review when I first moved into Summer Stone and stand by that review fully. What I have learned is that the thing that makes an apartment home are the people who staff the community. When I first moved in the lack of gym, a large pool, parking, proximity to a bar (it gets really loud even during the weekdays) were something that I was willing to overlook because Erica (the former manager) and Oscar (the maintenance person) were wonderful and made this community feel like home. I have subsequently moved out and there has been a change in the management. If you take a tour of the property it has lost a lot of it's luster. What one person wrote about dog feces being in the park is correct, but it is more than that. The manager is professional and does her job, but she is not welcoming, warm, or a person who you would want to talk to. The difference is night and day in this community, Erica really cared about the residents and what was going on in their lives it was not just a job to her and that was evident. I would be surprised if the new manager was able to tell you the names of many of the residents. My point is this if you are looking for a place that is warm and welcoming then you should go elsewhere, if you are just looking for a place you can absolutely find cheaper with more amenities, I cannot think of a reason that I would rent here again unless they dropped their rental rates by a third then it would make this property interesting in a strictly monetary aspect.
