So, these days anyone who knows how to sling a camera calls themself a photographer. The results are usually some crappy Olan Mills spinoff. You know the stuff you ran away from when you were a kid - the patent leather shoes with curled hair, sitting still in front of some pull down beach picture just to appease Mom or Grandma (cause otherwise you got a lickin').Yeah, that is not Sonia Boukaia Photography. She is a gem, a one-of-a-kind pro in this area. El Paso has a lot of people taking pictures but not a lot good photographers. She works with natural light and brings out the beauty in us that we sometimes don't see. I was absolutely thrilled to see the beautiful portraits and snapshots she took of my daughter. Every picture looks natural, nothing staged. The prices are definitely reasonable; she accomodates your schedule and location. Her website www.soniaboukaia.com - check it out so you can see her approaches to natural setting photography.Do yourself a favor, hire her. You won't regret it.

I first contacted Sonia through her website back in December. I was looking for a photographer in the El Paso or Las Cruces area to take my daughter's senior photos. We were going to be visiting the area in the Spring. We already did the San Diego beach photos. I wanted something different this time. Sonia definitely exceeded my expectations. Words can't really express how I felt when I saw my daughter's photos for the first time. The best I can say is that I was completely blown away. I am so glad that I chose her to capture my daughter's senior pictures. The end results were phenomenal. She is worth every penny. The best experience I have had with an El Paso photographer. The photos came out exactly what I had imagined. I was looking for a photographer that uses natural light. I did not want studio pics. I put out some ideas out there which she was willing to work with. In the end we decided on Mesilla Valley. Excellent choice! Sonia was very easy going but professional during the shoot. As others have said, she has a great eye and she's extremely talented. It was hard to choose from all the photos so I got all of them! When they arrived in the mail they were carefully and BEAUTIFULLY packaged. Professional from start to finish. She is our a new go to photographer in El Paso. If I lived in the area I'd be in trouble! You made us very happy. Thank you, Sonia. We wish you the best.

The photos are good and she does take her time. The prices for the actual photos are outrageous. The minimum amount of $250 to order was alright but I was thinking there were going to be packages for the that price. Once the session is over and you get to see the pictures, this is when you actually get to see the prices for everything. I was blown away!! I could not believe it. The sad thing is that because they are newborn pictures it's so hard not to want to buy at least one, but with the minimum and the prices I could not get myself to buy anything and lose the $125 I paid. It is upsetting and sad. Just be aware that you will be looking at a minimum $375 just to have a session and the minimum for prints or images.

The work Sonia does is absolutely beautiful. However, I was shocked by the prices. I wish that they would've been noted previously to me paying for the session. $55 per single high resolution media picture. $35 per single low resolution 4x6 photo. Over $700 to buy 48 media images including tax. Plus the $55 lock in date and the rest of $116 after the session. I love the pictures. I just wish I knew you had to pay a minimum of $250 to buy any pictures and that the total costs would be over $800 (not including the price to print pictures) I would recommend her if you're willing to pay this much for the pictures.
