Just happened to be by here on May 21st, so I stopped in. The place was really clean, but seemed to be geared mostly toward ladies. Which is cool, since they weren't interested in the heavy 10.5 inch square Lodge Cast-iron skillet, that I found. It was an Old Style Skillet, which I prefer. Hey I'm a guy that was born in the first half of the last century. Maybe I'm an Old Style Man also, it works for me. The price was fantastic, and it went to its new home. NFS it's been re-homed. Until next time. Thanks Ladies.

This is not your average thrift store for sure . This place is polished and has great sales daIly. They sell a lot of name brand clothing and accessories along with quality furniture and quality knick knacKs. The store manager is very friendly and has great daily sales. I love supporting this place because they help dogs and cats find furever homes.

Second Chance Thrift Store is a non profit store that is helping rescued animals. Though small, there are enough nice clothing, books, DVDs, music CDs, and figurines to keep the patrons interested. I bought the salsa sauce, 100% of the proceeds goes to helping sheltered animals.

Best thrift store experience in las cruces by far. Found amazing deals and loved the energy. Everything was very clean and tidy. No unnecessary junk scattered about. It was clear the workers took pride in their jobs and were very chill. Will be back very soon as they have daily deals. My new go to for clothing seriously. Glad I rolled through.

I wouldn't go back to this store if it was all free. I went in today with a shield (no masks for me I have only 90% oxygen) and she wouldn't let me in. Even after I told her why I can't wear a mask and that the shield has been more than sufficient for dr. Office, hospital, eye dr. And everywhere else - EXCEPT here - so no business and I will tell everyone.

Tough to write a review like this. I visited this store for the first time ever yesterday. I was excited because I had heard pretty good things about this store overall, including its nice displays, its inventory of items, and its prices. Though they do indeed have nice items which are presented in a pleasing way, and many of their prices are pretty good, I cannot in good conscience leave anything more than one star. "Why?" one may ask. Because the employees I encountered were just the absolute worst. Their greetings felt forced and not genuine. They seemed far more interested in laughing and giggling with each other than paying much attention to the store or its customers unless directly asked for assistance. I know that attire in thrift stores is often quirky and unusual, but these folks looked slovenly and unprofessional. Combined with the behavior I had already witnessed, I was feeling less than impressed or particularly welcome. Then came the kicker. I witnessed an unpleasant situation regarding a mask. These times of COVID and mask mandates are already tense, but a bit of compassion and consideration can go a long way. Someone entered the store who had a mask that was deemed inadequate. I understand many places feelthe need to more rigorously enforce these rules, and this thrift store is clearly one of them. Fine. I respect the right of private business owners to do what they feel is necessary. That was not the issue. The issue was the WAY it was handed. First of all, the situation was handled with sarcasm, a mocking tone, and laughing. Not surprisingly, the potential customer left. Again, though I disagree with treating people that way, I suppose it is up to the business to decide who can shop in the store. The real problem was this: EVEN AFTER the customer left, she was mocked loudly and openly in front of all the other customers in a very immature, unprofessional, and even inappropriate manner (the phrase "kick in the balls" was uttered). This continued for more than five minutes and included one particular employee walking to other parts of the store to further ridicule and mock the person to other workers and to brag about how the person had been insulted and treated poorly. By the way, this also occurred in front of an elderly woman who looked particularly uncomfortable. Given the poor work ethic, unprofessional appearance, and disinterested behavior of the employees even before the mask incident, I was not the least bit surprised that the employees failed to notice the discomfort of multiple customers.I had been carrying a stack of items that I planned to purchase. I had even decided to buy a large ticket item or two. I put my things back and just left disappointed. I amabsolutely willing to help support a worthy cause. We have a real crisis in our area in terms of unwanted animals. However, until the compassion and consideration that Second Chance feels toward animals also extends to fellow humans, I will be finding other ways to contribute to such causes. The quality of employees is very crucial. I was unable to reach anyone in management to discuss this situation. So until they can hire a better caliber of help, I cannot recommend this store nor offer any level of confidence that you will be treated with courtesy or kindness. I do hope they can improve this in the future. Treating ANYONE poorly, animal or otherwise, is inexcusable. These folks should know better.

Prices a bit high for a thrift store, but it's for a good cause. Some interesting and unique items.

Second Chance is not your typical Las Cruces thrift store. So much of the collection has a unique character about it that you feel you not only found a physical treasure but a secret tale of its former life. I walked in and saw a complete set of Christmas china displayed on a beautiful dining table and imagined the many holiday celebrations experienced and the possibility of new memories from Second Chance. My friend and I spent over an hour looking through the well organized displays and walked away with a few fun pieces. I will definitely return for this unique and fun experience including its friendly staff and its feel good contribution to the animal community! Kudos Second Chance!
