Sansei Japanese Restaurant

The food was ok if you are hungry. Doesn't really taste anything like Japanese food, more like a cheap basic bland sweet flavor. If you are hungry then stop by but if you want some flavor then go elsewhere. Doesn't even come close to the Japanese quick service food in the Fort Bliss Freedom Crossing food court. That place is unbeatable and cheaper. I think if they changed up their teriyaki recipe and added some more sesame flavor (less sweet as well) then maybe it will start tasting better but as of now it is just sweet and bland!

Great place to get Hibachi food cooked right in front of you to go!!!! Located in Bassett Mall, this place also serves sushi. My go to when we want hibachi type food fast. Come early! Be patient.

Incredibly dissapointed. Ordered through a food delivery service. When it arrived there was no soy sauce, chopsticks, spoons, or napkins (and what is sushi without soy sauce?!) I called and asked if I could place an order just for soy sauce since I was in a hotel with none available and was told no and they'd just remember to not forget them for future customers. The miso soup was awful with large chunks of miso paste undisolved at the bottom of the styrofoam container (I ordered 3 and all were awful and had the same paste chunks) . For a $7 California roll their roll was inexcusable. Junk fake crab, with 1-2 small pieces of cucumber and no avacado at all. I got two and both had the same issues. The shrimp tempura roll did technically contain avacado but the "pieces" were so small they were nothing more than green smears on the seaweed paper in 70% of the pieces, not even an actual piece you could remove from the roll. Awful experience, awful food. (I cannot comment on restaurant facility as food was delivered. Also, I did check with food deliverer and there was no additional bag potentially containing forgotten items, that had failed to be delivered.)

I ordered my meal with white rice and I got noodles. This is upsetting...

Disgusting storefront and lazy customers. I didn't even eat there but the front counter was completely covered in pieces of old, dried food and you can see through the front glass panel that the back of the grill is covered in old grease and hasn't been cleaned in who knows how long. The two employees up front stood around waiting for an occasional customer, eating and drinking openly behind the counter which is a clear health code violation. One employee played on his phone and later started throwing his hat up in the air repeatedly without wearing a hairnet while in close proximity to food. Upon completing a customer's order they placed the foam to-go plate on top of the counter on top of the old pieces of food and left the box open for the customer to close. I can't imagine what the kitchen looks like. I'm praying that the customer makes it through the night.
