Today, for lunch, we stopped at the Sansei Japan restaurant in the Mesilla Valley Mall. My wife had the chicken teriyaki and I had the beef teriyaki. We both had the entrees with chow mein (noodles) instead of steamed rice. Both of our meals were very good and they did not scrimp on the noodles or veggies. Mall ambience. Excellent service with no chance of your meal not being hot, since it is cooked right in front of you.

Ordered chicken & chicken Beef Teriyaki plates. Fresh and not greasy. The cashier actually grilled the meat in front of me. It's worth the walk the inside of the mall and order. Prefer this eatery over Panda Express.

Place is the best spot in the mall. Defiantly is better than Chinese Gourmet. My lady and I both got food. I choose sansei Japan. She choose Chinese gourmet. We both had are food delivered at the table. Her's cold. Over breaded orange and general chicken greasy noodles and fried rice that appeared to be Mexican rice. My dish from sansei Japan was cooked fresh and arrived hot. Their food was much tastier and extremely more palatable. My lady couldn't eat hers and decided to buy ghis instead.

Granted, I only tried one item, but I wasn't impressed. I figured that they'd have a couple prepared sushi rolls, but the only had a Cali roll. The worker said he'd just made it, so I expected it to be very moist and fresh still, but it was already dry. I look forward to trying the other dishes and liking those more, hopefully. The 3 stars is because I got great customer service.

The freshest place around. Don't eat at COSTCO. I had the salmon teriyaki fish. White rice, veggies cooked right at that moment. Like a mini Beni-hanas. The other dishes looked good too.

This is a straightforward teriyaki shop, with chicken, beef, and shrimp in various combinations with ride or noodles. They also have California roll and tuna roll sushi. The chicken teriyaki plate special is a bargain and is very tasty. The quality of the beef is not as good, in my opinion. The store is located in the Food Court in Mesilla Valley Mall.

Asked for the Teriyaki Beef Fried Rice meal and received it with just fried rice. I have enjoyed it previously but this time lacked the desired outcome as it was served with white rice.

This courtyard food outlet called Sansei, which is defined as "a son or daughter of nisei parents who is born and educated in America and especially in the U.S." , may reflect this ancestry. The food seems to be prepared for the American palate: Bland.Admittedly. I was asked if I wanted it spicy. I said "a little spicy." Oops. Fortunately it came with a side of sirachi.I also did the upgrade to noodles. They were OK but not a little crispy like I prefer.Shrimp and chicken were fine, but vegetables were almost all cabbage. I got one tiny broccoli piece. The spork was child-size, prompting me to consider learning how to use chopsticks. Serving was large but mostly noodles. But the meat was not skimpy. The cook is also the manager of the Chinese food place across the courtyard. He will walk across to it if you order fried rice.

During the waning days of the pandemic I revisited Sansei Japanese Cuisine as I have kind of liked the place over the past few years. The place in the mall food court was supposed to open at 11:00 but in fact it was not ready until about 11:15. I ordered the teriyaki meal with rice, beef, and chicken. It took literally twenty minutes for the meal to be prepared. It seemed to me they have gotten parsimonious with the chicken and beef. There were some carrot slices and a bit of broccoli in the dish but hardly enough to notice. Most of the bowl was rice and cabbage. They provided one little plastic container of soy sauce....hardly enough to add flavor. The chicken and beef were under seasoned and there was little of it. This meal was underwhelming to say the least and not worth the $14.00 I shelled out (with the drink and tax). I've lowered the rating to TWO-AND-A-HALF STARS meaning below average as far as the dining experience goes. . Should have spent my money today at Wendy's. Probably will not return.
