I think Arizona provides much better facilities compared to many other states IMHO. This was one of the nicer rest areas I ever used during all of my travels in the US. It was that good, and we really appreciated it very much. This facility is very close to AZ/NM boarder. If anyone has used any NM rest areas, you certainly know how this one is a much better one.The warning sign for poisonous snakes and insects are somewhat disheartening, but fortunately I didn't witness any of these critters while I was there. Since there's a nice pet area, you want to make sure your pets will not encounter any of these pests for their safety and yours. Thanks Arizona for providing a very nice and clean rest area!

Smack dab from the Arizona, New Mexico border you have this rest area!! Normally when I travel I have my pups with me so I do stop here for a potty break depending on how long we have been on the road. Each time the rest area is clean and so is the doggy area. I did notice this time they didn't have some doggy bags so lucky I always carry my own. If you are into reading about where you are they do have boards that tell you about the history of the area. There's also vending machines to grab a snack. If you feel up to stoping and eating there are some covered picnic tables to sit down. My joy is getting out the car to walk and they have plenty of room to satisfy that need. Tractor trailers, RVs and the traditional automobile can all settle in this rest area. They made sure to have the Long spots and the standard spots to accommodate everyone! The restrooms can be a bit strange with the short doors but it does serve its purpose so there's no complaints here.

The wife said the bathrooms were "cleanish" which means she would stop there again if she has no other choice, but would prefer to wait until a Pilot Gas Station hits the horizon. The rest of the rest stop is nicely done, with benches, trees for shade, vending machines and plenty of parking.

Located just a few miles from the AZ, NM border, this is a beautiful looking rest stop that has a spacious dog park area where your furry ones can roam. There are also some vending machines there, which accept both cash and credit/debit cards.Unfortunately, during my visit, there seemed to be a septic tank problem, which meant that all of the bathrooms were closed. Thankfully, I didn't need to go bad enough, and I was able to move on to the next rest stop. Still, it's a beautiful area, and there are some nice photo opportunities at the very least.

One of three rest stop 'stops' on a road trip crossing Arizona. A basic rest area with restrooms and a few vending machines behind heavy gauge wire gates.Clean restrooms and grounds. Groomed and cared for regularly.Area information posted along with emergency contact instructions that include specific location.A pet poop area; gravel and rock, no grass or vegetation for comfortable K9 movements. My pup had a tough time relieving in such terrain.Be safe, drive smart, and take frequent breaks.

I've stopped here before on my way to El Paso and it is as advertised......a rest area. Nothing fancy, just the basics. Place has always been clean and orderly. Typical truckers parking and regular vehicles. A place to walk your dogs with poo bags, covered picnic tables to make a meal if you choose, waking area to get the blood circulating and vending machines. Maintenance staff has always been present and cleaning one bathroom or the other.

The San Simon Rest area is close to the Arizona/ New Mexico border. It's very clean and pet friendly, an area is designated for pet exercise to prevent poisonous snakes. The view of the mountains is beautiful. At night, bats fly over the lights.

This is one VERY clean rest stop! I have gone across the state of Arizona and have to say, the AZDOT does a great job keeping up their rest stops. It's very much appreciated!
