Saenz Gorditas

Saenz has been a solid choice since I was a kid. I came back to visit my mom and had to check in with a #15. Super tasty red chili. Flavor without over the top heat. Drive thru is quick as they come.

Their prices are incredibly reasonable, especially considering the quality and care that goes into each dish. Considering a McDonald or Wendy's is easily $12-15 this place is sooooo much better! I also love their tacos and burritos! Don't forget to grab a side of their fresh beans or rice--they're the perfect accompaniment to the star of the show.Saenz Gorditas is the kind of place you'll keep coming back to. Decided to try this place based on photos of the food and reviews. The food was not bad, but it wasn't very good either. First of all, the gordita itself was made of very very thick masa. This wouldn't be bad per se, except that that was the best thing about it (it tasted good). There wasn't much filling in the gordita itself and all you can taste is the masa. I like gorditas for the filling, INSIDE of the masa, not for the masa with a hint of filling. Simply put, these are NOT the best gorditas in town. In fact, La Ristra food truck has the best. As for their relleno burrito, there was no relleno, just a green chile. It was ok, in a pinch. Nothing I would go out of my way for. As for prices. I will start with the fact that everything is expensive today. However, there are still some decently priced restaurants/food, and this is not one of them. In 2016, their gordita plate was 6.50. Five years later, in 2021 it was 7.50. Two years later, in 2023, it was 10.00. One year later, in 2024, 11.00!! Also got the enchilada plate. Cost about 12.50 and there was NOTHING in/on it. This was for ONE enchilada. Not two, not three, ONE! In short, if I was absolutely craving a gordita, I MAY go here, but otherwise, no thanks. And if you are ever at a fair or other event in town, look for La Ristra gorditas. They are the best!! A year ago, they were $5 for two gorditas, and they were stuffed! And absolutely delicious! Don't just buy local, buy reasonable local!! Patronize the establishments that try to keep their prices down for the people!! Not the gougers!

Great gorditas! It's best to eat them right away while they're hit and crispy. This is when I went with my dad last year. He's from Calif and he loved them!

Excellent Ground beef Gorditos, plenty of filling very flavorful. Love the texture. Outside seating is available. The order was quick and fresh.

Wow! Just wow! First time I had a great good gordita. I had a combination plate at like 10am in the morning and I was FULL ALL DAY LONG!!! That's very unusual for me especially with Mexican food and wow just wow. Ever since I've moved to town a year ago I've been waiting to stop each time I had time and money it was always closed I till just recently!! Go! Go, get some food from them! Stop reading and just order!! I can't wait to go back and eat something else or even have the same plate. The line maybe a bit long and takes some time but trust me it's 100% worth the wait and timeRemember they are closed SUNDAY and MONDAY!!

They have a sign saying "Best Gorditas in Town" and they have every right to have that sign up. These are the best gorditas no doubt. Their prices are beyond reasonable. We ordered 2 #1's ( 2 gorditas beans and rice) a bottle coke and soft drink all for $22.00. It's not an indoor seating establishment but they do have a few tables out. Give them a try!

The best gorditas! Every time I visit Cruces, I must stop here. Every menu item is tasty, but if you're going to a place with Gordita in the name, you'd better get one!

Don't smashed hamburger meat, I want to enjoy what I pay for you know. Don't cheat us out of what we pay for.
