Taste like shit

Gave this place a try since nothing else looked appealing in the food court. We approached the counter and the ladies working looked at us and finally one of them said hello. We looked at the entrees and decided to try it out. I went for the one entree plate and I got steamed white rice with a side of grilled chicken. The chicken tasted pretty good and the rice was decently cooked. I got a regular sized drink as well and my total was about $7.50. The tables were all pretty dirty and looked as if they needed a little love. The leather from the seats were all pretty much torn and they definitely needed love. Everything needs love and some deep cleaning. Oh and maybe less tables since it seemed so crowded and more lighting! I felt like I needed to whip out my flashlight! I'm still not sure what to think about this place. It was a love hate experience. This was definitely no Thai food though, it was definitely your typical small chain cheap Chinese food restaurant.

It pains me to write this review because I so want to not dislike something so bad, but this was the most regretful meal I've ever had. I cannot recommend to Ruby Thai Kitchen to anyone. It appears to be privately owned so I wish they would put more heart into this place (both the food and the environment) because I love eating at places that are local or family owned, but in this case not so much. While at the mall with my boyfriend we realized we were a little hungry so thought it would be nice to stop and grab something quick and easy. We weren't feeling like McDonald's or Subway and neither of us had every been to RTK so we gave it a go. Contrary to the name, Ruby Thai Kitchen doesn't serve Thai food. That's pretty disappointing. The food available is Americanized Chinese food. My boyfriend went with some plate or other, but almost every single one of their protein options were made with chicken... not so appealing to me that day (and after trying whatever my boyfriend got I'm glad I didn't settle for any of them). The other options didn't look that great to me so I figured I'd just get a couple of egg rolls. Unfortunately these were the worst egg rolls I've ever had. It tasted like ALL cabbage and the cabbage tasted old. The outside had been fried, but it wasn't good and not really crisp either (maybe sitting around too long... maybe previously frozen and cooked at a low temperature). I added a ton of soy sauce and a spicy sauce that was available at the front which still wasn't enough to make it appetizing. I ended up throwing away the majority. The inside of RTK is a little dingy. Tables are pretty close together and congested. They could've put in a little more work to open this place, nice tables, better lighting, wall decorations. There was just nothing appealing about this experience. Even the staff made me feel a little uneasy, like I was inconveniencing them in some way... like okay fine, I'll make my own food, you go relax kind of way.

Located in the food court of Cielo Vista Mall this was my only option outside of fast food American category. Coming down with the flu I needed soup and preferably spicy to wake me up. I decided to go with their SPICY BEEF NOODLE SOUP. The serving was more than enough for one. Diced up shallots complimented the spicy soup. The extra bag full of crunches was a great topping. I've had better Thai and noodle soup elsewhere, but for the price and location this was a descent spot.

I can't do less than 1 star? This place use to be my favorite fast food spot... I would literally come to the mall just to grab food and go back home. It went down hill since then. The staff is rude and hard to talk to. I had three small children with me asked for children's meals and then were charged for full entrees which they obviously couldn't finish, if the food would have been edible enough to eat. It was either soggy or cartilage absolutely terrible. Then I saw the cockroach as it walked across the floor. That's when we walked out. Worst experience ever, we won't be going back. Save yourself and just go anywhere else.

On Friday the 8th of November, my wife and I decided to try this restaurant. As we were getting our food and about to pay my wife and I saw a roach scamper out of the soda machine. We left the food were it was and walked quickly out of the restaurant disgusted.

You need to give it a try before thinking its a bad place because of one bad experience.First time I tried this place I automatically compared it to Panda Express which I used to eat plenty of. This place makes the best noodles way better than the tasteless panda noodles and their chicken has the same if not more flavor than the panda chicken. I come here every day after work and i enjoy every last bite, and throwing any of it away because I am full makes me sad, even though it is really really inexpensive, because its so good.

I'm new to ep from Seattle and this is hardly Asian food. I'd rather eat food from the trash than support this business. The noodles are too thick to even be considered lo mien, the rice is complete ass, and the chicken was overcooked and way too salty. Do not recommend.

If I could give this place no stars I would! This place is disgusting and my son noticed a cockroach on the counter by the food after we were done eating!!! Never will we eat there again! The food wasn't even "Thai" and didn't taste like much just oil and sweet sauce. This place should be closed down! DISGUSTING!!!

First off, this is a Chinese place. No Thai food. Typical mall food court American style food. I got a 2 item ate with chow mein and fried rice, spicy something chicken and broccoli beef, $6.49. Broccoli Beef was a bit overcooked in a mystery brown sauce, chicken was in the same sauce. Both were tasty, but a bit oily. there was a bit of bone in the chicken. The server was nice but the cashier was abrupt to the point of being surly. I dined in elegance in their seating area, the trays are old and stained, as is the wall paint and seating. There isn't anything nasty or horrible here, it is just lackluster food prepared indifferently. But hey, it's cheap.
