I was traveling from Tucson to Silver City when my Toyota 4Runner developed a loud "popping" noise in the rear differential. I called RPM and spoke with the owner. He had me bring it to his shop first thing in the morning. He took a test drive and also put the vehicle on the lift to diagnose the problem. He suggested I take it to a specialty rear-differential shop since it has a Locking 4x4 rear end. He then offered to tow the vehicle back to Tucson in a few days -- for a VERY Reasonable rate ! 100 % HONEST and very Reasonable. I highly recommend this shop !

Thank God for honest mechanics. We were in silver city as tourists and had a problem with my pick up. The Ford dealership had strongly recommended that I do a complete transmission service, at the price of $485 plus tax. No, actually they said I would be walking if I didn't, and then they told me that my warranty would be voided if I took it anywhere but the dealership. When I challenged the mechanic on this statement, he backed down but did say that I had to use all Ford parts or the warranty would be voided. Miss even included in the Transmission fluid and filter.I called RPM for a second opinion, and Tom suggested I bring it out and let them look at the fluid. I had told him the whole story about Ford telling me that I couldn't take it anywhere else or use anything but Ford parts, and when I arrived at RPM Tom gave me a handwritten note with the name of the federal law that prohibits that sort of thing.Tom pulled the dipstick on my transmission fluid inspected the fluid, and pronounced it fine. he ask if the transmission was shifting fine, and I told him that it wants. He suggested but I did not need to do anything to the transmission. I believed him and was spared a $485 unnecessary expense at Ford. By the way, RPM would've charged $310 for the same exact service that Ford wanted $485 for.I strongly recommend RPM as honest people. If I ever need anything done again in silver city I will go straight to them.

I had my clutch go out 14 months after they replaced it, which just so happened to be 2 months outside of the warranty RPM offers. Instead of offering to check with his parts dealer to see if they could extend their warranty (which my regular mechanic said is extremely common practice) or offering a warranty on the labor, Ray chastised me for "beating on my vehicles." Unbeknownst to Ray I have driven standard vehicles for half of my life and haven't had issues until this vehicle.Bottom line: Skip Ray's 2 for 1 deal of crappy work and extremely unprofessional service.

I really appreciate this place they have been honest and fair. They have given me quotes and the work went smoother than usual so they informed me and it came in well below the quote. If you want to check something they find, they will show you why they feel the repair is needed. They treat both my wife and I the same. I had the wife get a quote at another shop for something and her quote was much higher than mine, but not at this shop. I really trust this shop. Their level of integrity is great.

Shortly after moving here I took my car to a car repair place closer to downtown for a routine service. They informed me that they didn't rotate the tires because I needed a new steering arm and tie rods ($1,300). The "work" was done, but the car was not right. Took it back to the shop twice..no results. I then took it to RPM (big mistake not taking it there first). They FIXED the mess that the other shop made and at a very reasonable price. I agree with the other reviewers ...thank goodness for an honest repair shop in Silver City.

I usually do most of my own mechanic work, however once every few years I have to take a vehicle to a professional mechanic because the job requires special tools and or a mechanic that knows how to use them. I could have taken my vehicle to a shop in Safford which would have been 30 minutes closer for me, but by talking and getting to know Ray (the Owner) at RPM Auto Clinic the last few years, I am convinced he is one of best and most knowledgeable mechanics around. He is honest and stands behind the work done at his shop. He is a stand-up guy and if there is a problem, he will make it right. Thanks RPM Auto Clinic!!

I'm a new resident of Silver City and due to a starting problem I needed to find a capable and honest mechanic. The owner of the property I'm renting suggested Ray of RPM. They used their diagnostic equipment to quickly determine that the problem was the starter itself. They quoted me a price that I checked on line and found it to be quite reasonable. This job was complex as the starter is "buried" so that it required extensive disassembly. The car is almost twenty years old and some additional parts had to be replaced due their poor condition. Ray stuck with the initial bid even though there were unanticipated costs. I offered to pay for the additional parts. Ray refused. I'm happy to have found him.
