There are many gems in West Texas and this is a TOP one! The menu is ever changing and every single dish is spectacular. They put so much creativity and uniqueness into each recipe.We had Greek salads to start with that I completely devoured it was so good, and we took deviled egg salad and queso to go. Outstanding is putting it lightly! The queso is award winning and for damn good reason holy shite! It's the best I've ever had and I am a queso queen.There is a great area to sit in outside with plenty of shade and perfect views of the beautiful, vast Texas sky. Trust me on this, go and get one of everything!

Fabulous small take out place on the edge of Alpine. We found it a tad hard to find--basically, behind a fence across the road from DG Market. Inside you'll find the daily hot special, plus lots of cold options. I chose a hot chicken and mushroom hand pie. Sublime flaky crust! Plus, I ordered Thai green chili shrimp to go. Wonderful. You can sit outside under a pavilion to eat and canine companions are welcome.

Great salads, sandwiches and wraps. Soups are wonderful. Perfect for quick but yummy lunches.

All you foodies, whether locals or passing through, DON'T MISS Roux!!! Excellent true home cooking, reasonable, delicious...mostly for take out but there is a very pleasant covered seating area for when the wind isn't blowing at 60 MPH. My son and I shared a tomato bisque and a Greek salad for lunch. It was plenty to share and we bought 4 palm sized chocolate chunk cookies for $5 (made with butter)! Truth be told, we loaded up on other goodies. Really excellent food!

One of the few places in town that is open a full day and all week except for Saturday at the moment. Always best to call first at any food spot in Alpine. Everything is fresh and homemade. Originally located inside another place on Murphy Street, this popular food vendor took the leap to create their own store and it's a huge success. Lots of great salads, sandwiches, specialty items and drinks. Fun people, reasonable prices and open more than most restaurants, what's not to love!

The food is always fresh. Friendly service and always have many choices for lunch or dinner. Highly recommend!

Delicious food! Cute building! Friendly owner! It is fun to look on Instagram each week for their daily minute items! Best tomato soup and Brie/Spinach hand pies!

Roux is the perfect place for the grab and go, or for a pleasant lunch/dinner in the outdoor seating.I had the roast beef on rye and it was outstanding.I also got the famous Greek salad and it was very nice.The service was very friendly and I look forward to going back!

I might have limited experience with chicken potpies that aren't frozen, but they've got the best chicken potpies I've ever had
