Rouge Salon & Spa

I looked up places close to my house on Yelp for a quick trim. I picked Rouge because they take walk-ins and had decent reviews. I went and was able to get in right away. I got a wash, trim and blow-dry for a very reasonable price! Luis was the one who did my hair and made sure the amount he was taking off was ok with me once he started, which was nice because I've had a hairdresser take 3 inches off when I was looking for a trim. The only thing missing for me was a scalp massage with the wash and something anti-frizz with the blow dry, but I would definitely go back!

I scheduled an appointment online with Suzy, however I got a call that she couldn't do that time and rescheduled me for 4pm. After I arrived I was greeted by Viri, who was scheduled to do my hair not Suzy. I asked for a caramel balayage, and showed the pic attached below. After hours in the chair I noticed that she was applying color a few inches from the root all the way to the ends. Balayage is supposed to be more of a natural painting and not an ombré which appeared to be what she was doing and what I ended up with. Balayage is more natural and ends should be darker with almost flows of color throughout the hair, almost like natural highlights. An ombré is a faded look top to bottom basically. My hair was so blonde she and the owner realized this was not caramel as I had asked and then applied more color to darken it on my entire head, roots to end. I appreciate them noticing this and attempting to correct it. 4 hours later, arrived at 4pm, left at 8pm. I ended up with a color almost similar to what I went in with. Basically all one color with the exception of my roots and not a balayage at all. The services came to a whooping $221! They charged me for all the blonde she originally put in and then had to cover. Had the color been applied properly it would not have required so much. I am not impressed with my hair, it is not terrible but not what I wanted and definitely not worth $221. I could have applied boxed dye at home and gotten the same or better results. I'm giving 3 stars because both Vira, that did my hair, and the owner were extremely nice. I watched the owner cut several boys and men's hair and did fabulous. While I'm not pleased with my hair and didn't get what I asked for, I would at least go back for a haircut but likely never color again. That's the risk we take when trying someone and something new. They did tell me I had 15 days from the time of service to come in if I wanted it lighten or darkened. I'm just scared to ask for any more color to be added not knowing what I'm going to end up with. So I'll likely take the $221 loss, and go buy a $10 box of dye and re-color my own hair.

Well, I tried to get an appointment with this salon on two different occasions. I called last week to see if I could get in that day or the next, they put me on hold and NEVER CAME BACK to the phone. Today (4/2), I actually went there where a sign says "Walk-ins Welcome" in the window. There was one person in the salon doing a manicure, there was NOT ONE stylist at any hair stations! When I inquired if I could get a cut and color some time today, I was told no, but to put my name on a list at the register, and she would look and see if she had anything available tomorrow. I left my name and phone number and a time frame I'd like an appointment, NO ONE has contacted me. I guess they don't want and/or need any new clientele. I'm new to the El Paso area, I'm sure there are many other salons that want my business, because I'm certainly not going to attempt a third try with this place!

The service was great from beginning to end. Suzie helped me out with my nails and a much needed good haircut!

Suzie was warm, hospitable, yet professional. She gave a thorough pedicure last Saturday, and my polish still looks fresh.I will definitely make Rouge my go-to place every time I travel to ELP.

Saw this Salon close to my house and their website stated they would "always maintain cleanliness and hygiene." This is not what I saw when I walked in and the brushes were caked with hair, glad she only used a comb on me. I originally made an appointment online then got a call an hour before saying that stylist does not work there anymore (then update the website!) so I got a new appointment for the following day. The cut was fine and the price was good but I would not go back.

It says Spa in name but don't let that fool you. I stopped in for a pedicure. Prices was good but not for what I got My toes are now so sore from the super short cut and filing. will not go back or recommend. Not a spa!!

I love my hair but it took 5 hours just to do highlights and color and VERY overpriced.

Maria is a great hairdresser. She is super friendly and knowledgable. I needed to get a last minute cut and color and she understood what I needed and provided great advice. Will definitely recommend to others.

This place is the worst in every way lets just start buy saying that they were really rude they say they are going to do something to your hair and they just can't they don't know what they are doing !!! And when you ask for your money back to see if you can go fix it somewhere else they denied it , knowing that they fuckd up ur hair my asked for highlights on her hair and she came out with red hair and black spots every were they even admitted that they didn't do a good job but still refuse to give her money back it's they Have really bad attitude Mari the "owner" and Viridiana the girl that messed my moms hair up are very bad at what they do don't go there place love your hair
