Dr. Gormley is very straightforward with your condition and gives you honest opinions on where you stand. You want it straight, Gormley is the best.

The doctor I was seen by is a good guy & a good doctor but he wasnt really willing to be commital when it came to giving me advice as to the best course if treatment for my cancer, instead just telling me to look into the options. The BIGGEST problem is RGU is such a huge conglomerate that nobody else in the company knows whats going on. For example the doctor referred me to radiation treatment. As I was in a consult with my primary doctor at the VA the radation oncology office called & left me a voice mail that they had got the referal and to call to set up the appointment. When I called back about an hour later I was told by the receptionist thet she had no idea what I was talking about and they had no record of a referal for me. Obviously not even caring enough to even dig into the computer to look for it. As a result of this I will seek quality care elsewhere.

Got in to see the Doc pretty quick. The clerk at the front as well as the tech were nice and professional. Thankful they can do several of the tests on site without having to get a referral.

I'm very happy with Rio Grande Urology and Dr. Gormley. He has been treating me for several months now and I have had several procedures done by him. I have a complicated case and he has always been up front and straight with me about my options. He has always done excellent work with me. The only problem I've had is that the practice is very busy and its sometimes difficult to make an appt or get through to the doctors nurse. Plus there's usually a long wait when you go in for your appt but that's because Dr. Gormley is very thorough and doesn't shortchange his patients on spending time with them. Overall, I'm very happy there and feel I'm in good care.

Not the easiest place to find. No instructions before your first visit, would have been nice to know I needed to pee in a cup. The receptionist acted like she didnt know the Dr. Gromley worked there. After waiting over a hour I decided I did not want this place touching me.

Bad experience with RGU Las CrucesI don't know who needs to read this. it could be simply wasting my own time.A urologist visiting RGU did a procedure with me at Memorial Medical Center and referred me to Dr. Bendana with RGU and asked me to follow up with the appointment. It took me 16 calls (at 575-522-7880) and 5 days to finally speak to somebody who helped me out. The frustration is beyond words. Every time the rep in Las Cruces office (one of them is Julia) told me different stories (lied) and confirmed I would get a call within the day from Dr. Bedana's medical assistant. And it never happened. I then called their El Paso office and asked to make an appointment with Dr. Michael Bagg instead since I was not getting any call or feedback from Dr. Bendana and they transferred me to Las Cruces office and the rep told me Dr. Michael is not with RGU organization. Finally I found out they got my policy number wrong. I am sure they did this on purpose as I always clarify important info. I am not sure whether this is out of somebody hating Asian people.

My husband had a cystoscopy exam, commonly called a scope, at RGU and 3 days later he was in the hospital with what was diagnosed via urine culture as an ESBL infection. This is a difficult UTI to treat and require antibiotics via IV with side effects like debilitating diarrhea. It has been almost a month and he has been in the hospital, briefly at home and then back in the hospital and release to a skilled nursing facility all that time. His kidney specialist visited him in the hospital. There has been no contact from RGU. They are the only urology group in the area. Be very cautious. All the other comments about staff unresponsiveness that you read via this medium are correct. Monopolies breed sloppiness and inflated sense of self-worth.

I called 3 weeks ago to have a hospital procedure done for my son. During the initial call, the receptionist informed me that somebody from their medical team would contact me to discuss my son's procedure details and schedule. I called twice a week since my initial schedule because nobody from their medical team got back to me. Every time I called, they would tell me the appointment is still not available OR the appointment is available but they would have to get with the doctor to retrieve the information because they do not have it available. For the 5th time since my initial call 3 weeks ago, I am calling them again. At the moment, it has been 20 minutes of waiting time to speak with a representative and when I finally did, I was put on hold by the representative for 17 minutes, only for the call to be terminated. They are extremely unprofessional!

I saw Dr. Herrera Monday morning..he is great, his staff the office staff are a different story. My medication were never called into the pharmacy. I calledRGU on Wednesday and was told someone would call me back...no one ever called...this is typical, I have no faith that what I'm told will ever happen, which is a shame because Dr.is such a good doctor and rated as such, pretty sure someone on his team is dropping the ball, which reflects poorly on him.
