These are the best burritos in town! My boyfriend and I go all the time and the guy that works there is amazing. Ambiance is basic but I still feel comfortable eating here

The dude at the window knows my girlfriend and I by now as we are here at least once a week. She gets the California and I get asada. They are the best burritos, best service, and best feeling you are gonna get in town. The ambiance is basic but in no way is it bad. The red salsa is my favorite and my gf loves the green. Hands down I will recommend this place to anyone who wants amazing food in las cruces. Best burritos in town

Food is just like I remembered it from Chula Vista, California- big carne asada burrito and three rolled tacos with guacamole is my go to meal when I'm craving this type of food. No disappointments because their menu is extensive. Portion sizes are generous and taste-great!

The food is flavorful. The portions are nice. But it's too damn hot! We got takeout of several seafood dishes, but the heat was just overwhelming. If you like it really hot by all means go for it, but if you don't, steer clear. We didn't eat in so I can't comment on service or ambience.

I'm a menudo snob. It's hard to find good menudo in Las Cruces. Ricardos has it! Whether I order at 9am or 9pm, the menudo is always good and never watered down!

The taquitos (aka "rolled tacos") were ok. People praise the old Burger Time taquitos as being great. They were not. But they were served on a bed of shredded lettuce with cheese sauce poured over them and, if you wanted, green chile on top. THAT was what made them good! The inside of the taquitos was a mixture of shredded meat and potatoes. So as far as that goes, the taquitos at Ricardo's are better. Nothing inside the rolled taco, but meat! But there is no cheese sauce, just some cold (not melted) shredded cheese. So when I got home with this take out food, I smothered them in some cheese sauce I had, to which I had already added green chile... and they were delicious! So their taquitos themselves were good, but lacking in presentation. The rellenos aren't too bad, but came with a red tomato sauce over them (?). California style I guess. The rice was good, but a little under cooked and therefore sometimes crunchy. One real complaint is that the burrito, and relleno both had whole, hard, crunchy, bay leaves in them. Choke, gross. I am from California and I absolutely hate(d) Cali-Mex! It's AWFUL! Why oh why they advertise their food as "California Style" in New Mexico (home of the best "Mexican" food in the country), is beyond me! California-Mex had a lot of olives, no red or green chile (but maybe a red mole sauce), no sopaipillas, and lots of corn. So another reviewer here said basically that carne asada was Californian... hmmmm nope. We have that. Always have. Maybe it's a Cali version with olives, corn and mole? I also don't know why they call a smothered burrito "wet"... (hmmm gross). At least I'm guessing that it is a smothered burrito. Nor can I figure out what a "sope" is. I suppose they mean "sopaipilla"? No idea, because California doesn't have sopaipillas. Overall, it was ok. But the food there is pick and choose. Some will be gross (Cali-Mex). Some will be so-so. And others will be good with some help (taquitos - which are good by themselves, but better with help). I'm thinking that the carne asada tacos MAY be ok. That is what we're going to try next.

The food is authentic Mexican by a family run business. There are two in Las Cruces NM with online ordering, drive thru and inside service. The food and horchata are homemade and delicious.

Do you ever get ticked off that so many restaurants are so parsimonious with the meat in their burritos? Fear no more. Ricardo's burritos are hefty and full of delicious meat. Today I found the restaurant clean and the service friendly and efficient. The prices were quite reasonable considering the amount of meat and the quality of those burritos. The carne asada burrito was exceptional and the carne adovada burrito was very good. The burritos were served with two salsas...the red being excellent. I was impressed...good stuff. Dining experience four stars, food quality was four and a half...meaning very good.

Very sup par food. No wonder no one else ever showed up besides us. It was also very hot so I don't think the AC was working.
