Amazing trails! There was about 3 different options to take, my husband and I did the green tagged loop trail (About 2 miles total). Great mix of uphill, downhill, and flat grounds! No sights of any wildlife, just a few bird and LOTS of cacti. It's a bit hidden but it's there, it appear a fence was put up but according to a sign we saw it was still open and advised to solely stay on the man made trails:)

Wakeem Teschner Nature Preserve at Resler Canyon is a nature preserve and hiking trail in metro El Paso. When I pulled up to the address I didn't think I was in the right spot as it was a parking lot behind a strip shopping mall and in front of local Fox / ABC affiliate. The entry to the preserve is in the corner of the parking lot and marked with a pink sign. Nice short hike, maybe a couple miles. Some interesting plants and animals. Trail has some signs explaining the environment. Coyotes could be a legit hazard as I ran into a big one shortly into the walk. It is situated between two nice neighborhoods. Not sure if any safety concerns. I suggest caution if walking alone as I was, as no one was around in the canyon.

One of the few places within the city where you can get away and experience real nature easily. Quick and easy out-and-back 2-mile trail. 40 mins at a quick pace and 1 hour at a leisurely stroll. 0.75 miles in the trail "ends" officially but you can keep going until you get to the Resler Dr drainage tunnel. Halfway down the trail you can't even tell you're in between I-10, Mesa St and Resler Dr. Can get hot in the middle of the day.
