TL;DRMoved from out of state to Cruces. Worked with Isaiah to buy a brand new home build. He made empty promises, including a brand new fridge, lied about being "quarantined" and only until I confronted him unexpectedly at the office during his "quarantine", spoke to his dad Raul and Lupe (both very nice) did all of those empty promises get addressed. Poor communication, lack of trust and honesty, and I'll never refer this guy to anyone. Rather have worked with Raul.LONG STORYMy wife and I moved from out of state. Due to the start date of wife's med school and start date of a new position, we had a short timeline to work with. My wife had to travel back home to wrap things up and I stayed to find us a place to live. I had already started working at my new position. After exploring areas and looking on Zillow, we reached out to Isaiah at Select Realty and got the ball moving. At the beginning, Isaiah was on top of everything and showed me a few openings, explained which areas were better for different reasons, and showed us a brand new build. Isaiah explained, "Since it's a new build, whatever isn't done you might be able to work with the builder to customize or complete to your liking." Also mentioned to us, "All appliances included, including the fridge." We liked it, decided to put in an offer with the outstanding questions, "What are we able to change that's left to be complete? Can we confirm the appliances and brand of appliances? Will we be able to drop off some of the heavy things that we're moving and leave in the garage if the house isn't complete by completion date?" This happened while he was showing me the home, in person, with my wife on the phone via FaceTime. I visibly watched him write down our questions. After the seller accepted our offer, I again reached out to Isaiah to ask about our questions with no response. Again, time was of the essence, so we wanted to get these answered since we'd be renting out our home out of state, school start date and moving everything out to LC - Lots of moving parts. I reached out again. Isaiah's response, "What were your questions again?" After watching him write down our questions, I started to wonder how much he understood our timeline. I repeated our questions and his response was, "Yes, you can most likely leave some things at the house, even if it's not complete. Yes, the fridge is included, all appliances are Whirlpool." This is all in person and via text messages. This is where things really took a nose dive. I flew back home to finish packing, prepare our home to rent out, load the moving trucks and again, send a text to Isaiah to confirm if the fridge will be there because I had a brand new fridge at our home and could bring that if it's not included, stating that the Zillow posting didn't include a fridge. Also asking if it's still okay we drop some heavy items off?" His response, "No, you can leave it. A fridge will be there and yes, most likely." After making a 12 hour drive with all of our things, I ask him if I can drop the heavy things off and he said, "No, the builder changed his mind." No storage units available and our house won't be complete as scheduled. His next response, "No fridge either. The builder changed his mind." Started to really doubt him, I contacted the builder and seller myself. Two things I learned, 1 - A fridge is never included. 2 - He never asked any of those questions, so the question of "Can we change anything that isn't done?" was only asked after I visited the house myself and saw that those items that we wanted to change were already done, minus the flooring; We were able to change that. His response, "There's nothing I can do." I began to get frustrated. I visited him in person at the office on Main and said "This needs to be made right somehow. Too many empty promises. You told me a fridge was included and you told me not to bring my fridge. I HAD ONE TO BRING." He agreed, apologized and said "We'll get you a fridge." Great! Willing to work around the "Customizing" and "Storage" issues, but it continued. He responded, "I put a $200 down payment on a new fridge for you." Great! A few days later, "Won't get the fridge, it's on back order. I'll give you a check for $1000 towards a fridge, you can put in the rest." (?) What was the down payment for then? A few days before closing, "I'll have a co-worker give you that check, I can't meet you in person. I'm quarantined due to a COVID exposure." At that point, my wife and I have to be out of our rental house, find out where else to store our stuff and no fridge, no house, no communication from Isaiah. Stopping by the office again, who do I see? Isaiah. Quarantined? Nope. Obviously not the kind of assistance you'd hope when buying a home. Only until speaking to Raul and Lupe did they understand our frustrations, agreed and made it right. Huge thanks to them! In the end, I worked around Isaiah to get our questions answered, including where our keys were AFTER closing

Working with Raul was an excellent decision. We are new to the area and were looking at homes in Las Cruces for the first time, and he had patience, knowledge and advice to share with us to the benefit of all. We put in one and only one offer, at the amount suggested by him (not breaking our budget at all) and the sellers accepted within just a few hours. He was also incredibly patient and helpful during the time between offer and closing, as we were using our credit union as lender and it is a SLOW process. He worked with the seller to convince them to extend/wait for us and success! Finally, we are doing this during a global pandemic and we haven't been able to move into the home yet, but he kindly offered to drive by the house just to let us know if it is still standing :). Would definitely recommend and work with him again!!!

Raul was very knowledgeable and helped guide us through the home-buying process. As first time Home-owners we were nervous to start this journey but Raul helped put us at ease. We knew we could trust him and he was very patient with us. We could never have done this without him. He is highly recommended!
