Rafa’s Burritos Horizon

This is a strange place. They have very odd hours. On this particular day they only had the drive thru window open for pick up. So, consistency seems to be a problem here. The food is hot or miss as well. The Birria Tacos were excellent. The meat was tender and well spiced and they were also surprisingly filling. The onions and cilantro add a nice contrast in flavors and textures. The Menudo is outstanding! The broth is thick and flavorful. It's not watered down at all! And it leaves the most wonderful heat in your mouth after each bite. Not too hot, it's just right. The California Burrito seemed a bit small. The Pastor Tacos had a ton of flavor and were nice and moist as well. The Torta... here's where it fell apart. They have a ton of selections for Tortas here and I'm a big fan. The issue with these tortas is the bread. While the bun is really big, it isn't a traditional Torta bun so it's lacking the flavor and the texture. This bun is really just an oversized hamburger bun. The other issue with this Torta is that they are putting the same amount that would go into a regular Torta into their enormous buns. So the filling ends up feeling thin and stretched out. I like a Torta that is filled. This one wasn't at all. The flavors were good, but not enough filling and way too much bread! One last note, if I were you guys I would REALLY reconsider the fries you are using. They are bulky, generic and they simply don't fit the food. Maybe look for corn fries or chips instead. That way the salsa would have twice the opportunity of being used!What they do right is really goodWhat they do wrong is really wrongLet's see if they can fix these issues...

I went from the Lower Valley to this place in Horizon just to get the California burrito... I was so disappointed. The burrito was big but was not promising at all. The description states that it has asada, queso, pico de gallo, fries and aguacate. Honestly it only had like 5 fries and to top it off! They forgot the avocado?! Like bro that's the most important thing... I am very disappointed I don't wish to return to this place, the drive was far and the food was NOT the best. Save your $10 it's too much for a burrito. Or make sure they do put the ingredients they promise... ‍

Love Rafa's! You really get a HUGE Burrito for a great price. I eat half and save the other half for another meal

I ordered the birria tacos and the tortillas were so soggy that as soon as you picked them up they fell apart. Granted the meat was really good but they were so messy and it made it even messier that they don't out the onions and cilantro inside of them so you have to peel it apart. And the consume cups were so small you couldn't dip your taco with out more mess. It's all around just a soggy mess.

Great place to eat. Food for all the family. Very respectful people working there. They are fast getting your food. Over I have this place 5 out of 5.

I got several burritos and all of them had a great taste and great serving size. I was very pleased and will definitely be ordering from them again! Loved they had a drive thru as it made things easier for me. 10/10

Food is good service and ambiance good too. The California Burrito is delicious and the Agua de pepino very good

Service was good I ate inside and the employees were very friendly. BUT the reason I left three stars was because I went and tried the California burrito hoping for a little taste of home. I was SO disappointed. The menu says it has carne asada. Fries, sour cream, avocado, cheese and pico de gallo. But what I got was NOT that. They put carne asada, pico, green bell peppers? The tiniest bit of sour cream, a few soggy fries, and no cheese. Oh and a little bit of avocado salsa just on the tip but no avocado. Was super disappointed maybe their other food is better but this was NOT a California burrito at all. The tortilla was good but definitely not a $9.50 burrito. Also the carne asada was tender but had no grill or char to it and was chunky. Maybe I will try again and order something they are good at.

What happened? You guys had the best burritos in horizon city! I was telling everyone how great you guys were, now I will be telling everyone to stay AWAY! I bought the worst crappy burrito I have ever had. The tortilla tasted like cardboard and also as thick as one. Your barbacoa totally sucks now.

The young lady at the drive through was so helpful. She let me taste test at the window because i had no idea what to order. Thank you so much! Will definitely be back. I would say what i ordered but i do not know what it is called ‍. Delicious though.
