Pop's Better Burger

Just a quick detour for lunch on our long road trip. This place is well regarded and has been in business for about 40 years. Arriving well after lunch hours wasn't a detriment. We didn't see any printed menus but there were handwritten signs with photos that depicted the offerings. Our orders were taken and filled quickly. Speaking of which, having a burger fresh off the grill is like nothing else! The patties weren't quite smash burger thin, but not far from it. Loved the fresh veggies on my burger. The vanilla shake was the perfect foil and really hit the spot. Although it's unlikely we'll be here again, I have no problem pointing the way for others.

unfortunately this spot was a bit of a let down.I put em at 2.5 stars due to quality of food.1st off, the photos show Krinkle cut fries and that is not what they serve.I ordered a Cheese burger w green chile and it started off great, I'm a fan of chopped/shredded lettuce on burgers and they do burgers that style, also the amount of mustard was perfect it seemed like a good old school burger. Then, I bit into something really hard, which I can only guess was a piece of bone from the ground beef. As I looked at the patty I noticed it was really thin and looked like a frozen patty which was disappointing.Also my fries looked like they came from the bottom of a bag of frozen fries that was running out, mostly short pieces w pointy tips and it was literally just a few fries in a paper soup bowl, the fries were a complete fail.Overall, except for the piece of bone, my burger was pretty good but it could have been much better.After hearing from a friend this was the best burger in the area I have to disagree, this place needs a tune up.On the positive side the staff is friendly and the prices are a good, very affordable and overall the menu has options to satisfy most cravings.Easy parking off the main road too.Since I really want to like this place I'll be back in a few months to give it another try. Hopefully they bring back krinkle cut fries and use higher quality ground beef/ patties.

Absolute gem! Rustic neighborhood hamburger joint with a south western twist. The staff is very friendly. There are ample tables to sit in comfort and enjoy your meal. Run don't walk to this superb eatery!

Still as good as it always was! It had been about 25yrs since I last step foot in the restaurant. We decided to stop by while on our road trip. I'm so glad we did! It's still the place to be! We ordered the regular burger combo and some rolled tacos (taquitos). Burger was super flavorful. It's the fresh ground meat and mustard!!!! Yum! I hope they never close their doors. It's a local gem! Parking is limited but well worth it! Customer service was good too. Older decor but that's what they are known for. Restrooms were cleaned too.

Exactly as the name suggests, this is a small town burger joint filled with coca cola memorabilia and advertisements. I got the regular cheeseburger and fries. The burger patty was thin and the bun was incredibly oily. So oily that the wrapper it came in was nearly see-through. All in all, the burger was nothing special, but solidly made and hit the spot of this weary traveler. The fries were crinkle fries that were a bit too soft and limp for my taste.

This place is a home run. Well worth the drive. Had a green chile cheeseburger which was outstanding. Crinkle cut fries were fresh and hot. Seating for about 40 persons over 10 tables. Not an issue / food came up very fast and was hot. Lots of other choices on the menu too.

This has to be the best tasting burger in el paso county! I had the burger combo, it was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The butter toasted buns were soft and delicious. The crinkle cut fries complimented this tasty burger and left me satisfied wanting more lol. Thank you Mr. Popham

Pop's Better Burger is a Fabens area staple. I love their quintessential American burger shop menu. They practice a friendly small town approach to service. There is nothing special about how they make their food, but the food is done right and fast. I had a serious burger craving and just happened to be in the area. How fortunate for me! There was no turning back from those images of a double cheeseburger basket with fries from my head. I was on a mission! Once I sunk my teeth into my meal, I was not disappointed. Of course I have never been disappointed with a meal that I've had at Pop's. You will never leave disappointed or hungry!Classic burgers at retro prices! You will be a happy camper with every visit to Pop's Better Burger.

Other than having had awesome service, the burgers, tacos & burritos are delicious. My all time favorite is the taco salad, the absolute best! There's a reason they've been in existence for 40 years!

Food was great! They serve very good burgers with great customer service. I also got fries with nacho cheese
