Nice open space for events in Cruces. It is nice open area with tapestries in the center. It even has a sun dial in the center. I practically missed it because it was impressed by the design in and of itself. The place is already set up for Christmas, but I wasn't sure if they had done a Christmas tree lighting yet. In the daytime, with the blue sky above, the tree looked beautiful though. I like that there is plenty of seating around the plaza, both covered and uncovered. The plaza is within walking distance of several eateries, casual and fine dining, and the historic Rio Grande Theater.I would like to return for the seasonal special events for sure.

We visited Plaza De Las Cruces to support their Farmers & Craft Market on a Saturday morning. It was 65 and such a bright and beautiful day already even at 9am. They have so many shops including this heavily recommended bookstore that my husband likes called Coas Bookstore. They say once you enter in that bookstore, it's hard to walk out and you will get lost. It's like a maze! The Plaza is very clean with decent parking and has excellent food and even the public is friendly and approachable. The tiles of the sidewalks are detailed and every shop is decorated for the holidays.

Ultimate Christmas place for Las Cruces. It's more festive during Christmas with the Arts and Crafts on Saturdays. The weather is also more ideal, not too cold and not hot like the summer.

Great day in the plaza. Sweet Fest going on. Despite purchasing 12 sample tickets, there wasnt enough places to spend them on. Not fault of the plaza though.Beautiful downtown area. Lots of trees, several new benches and picnic tables have been added. The splash pad was not running and that was a shame. Hot day, lots of kids...water play would have resulted in drink and snack purchases. Would have been fun to watch as well. The historic Rio Grande Theater was showing Star wars movies all day and that seemed popular. More than the usual kiosks in the market today. Lots of buskers playing great music. Snacks and drinks everywhere, people and dogs roaming about, even a gray parrot perched on his dad's shoulder for the morning. Coas was very busy and had its usual outdoor shelves of titles. I saw cotton candy roaming around and enjoyed some funnel cake. Nice Saturday morning. I love our downtown.
