Very generous portions of delicious Mexican food. Their chips and homemade salsa is very tasty. I had the chili rellenos with cheese. Very very good. Definitely going back when I'm in Hatch

Old time Mexican restaurant, no frills just excellent food. Good seating. We both had taco salads with ground beef. The tortilla shells were homemade, hot and very delicious flavor. Meat was well seasoned and the portions were huge. Definitely not a disappointment. The greens were fresh and the salsa had a kick.

Stopped in after reading the reviews, and saw Anthony Bourdain ate here, and it was well worth it. Great atmosphere & amazing food that is reasonably priced. Definitely a local place!

The Pepper Pot has a spacious patio, where you can kick back, relax, and stuff yourself with chile dishes. The rellenos made a great way to refuel before heading along on our road trip, and service was pleasant and quick.

This place is a classic small town, really good restaurant. I knew it was going to be good after being in there for less than 5 minutes. It was all locals, and they all knew each other. When they brought the chips and salsa I knew they weren't playing here at all. Many Mexican restaurants bring a bland salsa - this was zippy and freshly made. The menu was diverse but not so big they couldn't do everything well. I had the Pepper Pot burrito, which had been featured on the Travel Channel. The waitress sad it was her favorite, so I went with it. It came smothered with red and green sauce, one on one end, one on the other. The pork inside was excellent, and the combination of that and the cheese and sauce made this literally one of the best burritos I've ever eaten, and I've eaten A LOT of burritos. The portion size was extremely generous. My wife had the quesadilla with chicken and it was huge, and also excellent. She got the "Christmas Sauce" on the side, which is a red and a green, and excellent. The people at the table next to us got a chili bowl and a taco plate. Both were massive, and this little old lady knocked down that taco plate like a sumo wrestler. I told her I was impressed and she told me she never leaves a bite when she eats here. The service was also very good - the waitress we had was awesome. I live about 90 minutes from Hatch, NM, and I would drive that just to have the burrito again! The prices were also VERY reasonable, unlike some of the tourist-trap places.

We had a great meal at the Pepper Pot. My wife had a chile relleno made with a Hatch green chile. I had the combination plate: two rolled cheese enchiladas with Christmas (Hatch red chile on the left and Hatch green chile on the right), a ground beef taco, and a Hatch green chile relleno. It's hard to get chile like this outside of New Mexico and Hatch is the center of the known universe of chile. Plain inside, dressed up with some colorful silhouettes hanging from the ceiling. There is also outdoor seating. Service was prompt and friendly.

wouldn't recommend their salsa was pretty good, got three soft chicken tacos the chicken was not seasoned at all very dry and bland, the tacos feel apart had to eat them with a fork. We also got the chicken sopapilla bland chicken the red and green sauce was good. Wish it all had more flavor and spice especially for being in Hatch New Mexico. we had great service and atmosphere was good.

Hoped to contact manager or owner on facebook...got blocked for my effort to sound off or resolve issue...food sucked and service sucked. What a disappointment ..... we only support small business and to have this happen...stinks read reviews on yelp before going there..don't go on a Tuesday between 12 and 1. You would think that word of mouth would mean something to a small business in a town of 1500. I guess not
