Pappy’s Bar-B-Q

Came here on a weekday around noon, looking for some good Texas BBQ and the place was empty. Ordered brisket and chicken to go. We also had coleslaw, green beans, and cornbread. Nothing was good enough to write home about. Overall, food was pretty Mediocre.

Best BBQ within 120 miles absolutely. Fantastic! Service was excellent. Could lighten the place up a bit. Kinda dark

It was pretty good. I enjoyed it. We shared and 3 meat plate. It was an okay portion. Not bad. I liked it.

Pappy's Bar-B-Q is absolutely amazing! I always get the Brisket Sandwich and without fail it is always juicy and delicious. We only have this when driving between cities. We take every chance we can to stop here. Some people complain it's expensive but it's $7 (I'm rounding up actually like 6.50) which is not bad for a brisket sandwich. The meat is tender and goes along great with their BBQ sauce. At times the sauce overwhelms the sandwich but this is not the case here. Its smooth and balanced. The sides are also yummy, the beans, green beans, and mashed potatoes are all excellent sides. I always enjoy my sandwich with a sweet tea (its amazing). I would honestly recommend to anyone to go here instead of a fast food place. The place is clean, especially the restrooms. This is the best BBQ place I've ever gone too (and I know a lot).

Good dinner plates. We had the ribs and sliced brisket With beans, potato salad, coleslaw, corn and cornbread.Make sure and get there early before they are sold out of product.

Meh, it was okay, barbecue sauce pretty good. You'll need it for the brisket. This may be the only barbecue joint in town, so it would be the best barbecue in town otherwise don't come here for the barbecue.

Had a catered lunch from Papa's. Very good, smoke flavor was just right to my taste. The brisket was tender and cut with a fork. Ribs were also flavorful. I'll have Pappy's again when I'm in Monahans.

Very friendly staff and food is excellent by Monahans standards. The sliced brisket and chicken are the stars at this location. Only thing keeping me from giving them another star is that they often run out of food and their hours are difficult to keep up with. This, unfortunately, is a problem with all of the eating locations in this town.

Not good BBQ brisket is dry and has no smoke flavor!!The sides taste like pre made from sams. This use to be good place but not any more !
