I recently graduated from an online Doctorate through NMSU, and let's just say, we will not be doing that again. I chose NMSU because of it's affordability and the accelerated online nature of the program. The program was rigorous, which I had expected, but what I did not expect, was the disorganization and lack of communication/coordination. Online faculty are semi-available, as they will respond, but likely with a one line answer that only partially addresses your initial question. It seemed my graduate school was on some distant island far away from NMSU, because everytime it came to address someone outside of my graduate school, no one had a clue! The IRB for instance, it was as if they had never experienced a graduate nurse QI project before. The same goes for the faculty of the graduate SON. It was as if they had never submitted to the IRB before! There was ongoing misinformation/miscommunication/disorganization throughout. Clinical documentation seemingly had to be reinvented each semester, despite again, no clear instructions or constant contradictions between one faculty to the next. Let's not get into preceptors, and the nightmare that was! When it all came to an end, even my final paperwork was submitted incorrectly after pointing out potential errors. Then, when graduation came, only 1 DNP graduate had their QI Project listed in the Commencent Program! This was due to other depts coordinating graduation, not being away of the QI Project vs Dissertation completed by DNPs. Did I mention I was nominated for an award that no one seemed to know what it was for, and I was only told about it when it was too late to participate in the Recognition Ceremony? Graduation was a disaster! Chairs were marked with numbers, and here we find, there was no chair to match my marching number. Then, we are told they are "pulling and audible", and to sit anywhere. That went great until another graduate very rudely told my a faculty member, a classmate, as well as myself, "that is my chair!". In which, we were forced to move and once again, ask for help. Same directions were given, that we were to just sit anywhere. Numerous faculty wore dirty/old shoes to graduation, and seemed not to really care about how big of a day this truly was to so many people! The campus was gorgeous during the fall, so that was a definite plus! If going to NMSU, really do your research. I cannot say I would recommend there graduate SON. Some faculty were amazing! For those which seemed to know what needed to happen, they too were often left frustrated with their hands tied. NMSU was a means to an end, and for that, I am thankful. One recommendation that would be priceless, would be to have a student/SON advocate. To assist with communication within and outside the Graduate SON.

I am a 66 year old lady that attended the school in Grants, NM, at night in jewelry instruction with Robert Estevan. He kicked me out of the class for absolutely no justified reason, but solely due to gossip and slander by another community member. One female Senior student with psychological issues wanted undivided attention from the instructor. She verbally abused and slandered me, in order to get me out of the way. She dramatized incidents to get rid of me. The school did nothing to properly assist me in respect to any of the behaviors by Robert, or the other student.

Beautiful campus. We toured the campus after my brother's orientation. With graduation apparently going on, the campus was nice and quiet. A good way to spend some down time.

I love NMSU. I had a great experience here. I did not realize what I had until I went for my masters at a different University. NMSU provides a great education. The classes are small and intimate. You really get to know all of your professors on a personal level. The Professors always have their doors open for students and offer all the help you could ever ask for. The facilities are wonderful. They have every learning tool you could want and are excited to teach you about them. I was on the swim team for NMSU and I can honestly and proudly say that NMSU has the most beautiful pool I have ever swam in. Any student can swim there and are encouraged to.The community is very supportive of one another. It is the only place I have ever been where people truly believe in and practice loving thy neighbor and the what's mine is yours philosophy. It is culture shock when you first come here because you are immediately accepted and treated with love and respect (a far cry from my home town). When there is a party, it is the whole town, not just stupid little clicks. NMSU is wonderful! Enjoy your time here because after you graduate, you will truly miss it every day. You will never find another University to take such a personal interest in you and your studies again. You will also never feel the absolute acceptance and self assurance you feel while in that community again.

I received a great education and was able to pay for the majority of it using money earned from minimum wage jobs. My degree was a great tool for launching my career. Since graduating, I have been quite successful finding employment using my Computer Science degree. I have little else to which compare it, but I have nothing but positive things to say about NMSU.As far as athletics, if you are interested in a "jockocracy", go elsewhere.

Section124, Row 2, Seats 1-14 of the Pan Am Center. This entire row broke and partially collapsed just as the Trans Siberian Orchestra concert was starting. No injuries but the rest of the evening was spent holding the seats up. Hard to enjoy the show after that.

I feel as if I got a world-class education and an awesome university experience, although the athletics are lacking. The basketball team has represented well some years and the baseball team is good, but other than that their sports are lackluster at best. I would totally give it 5-stars if it wasn't for the lack of stand-out athletes! I double majored in Communication Studies and French and minored in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management and I feel like I received a great education. I would highly recommend NMSU to my friends unless they're going there looking to make it into a professional sports career!

Students at this college are encouraged to struggle! On numerous departmental websites, syllabi, in conversations with professors, and other places, they let the student know that they will probably fail the courses they are enrolling in. WOW!!!! Isn't this a perfect example of the teaching abilities, if you can call them that, and not necessarily the pupils' aptitude? Chemistry seems to be the least strong department. There is never a class discussion of the information covered in tests, homework, or online assignments. I WOULD NEVER SUGGEST THAT ANYONE ATTEND THIS SCHOOL! Additionally, the staff is quite unprofessional; they don't care about their students and, when contacted for a callback, they don't return it. I've never seen a problem like this in my hometown.

We were hired last night by New Mexico State University to arrange transportation of a vehicle from Danbury CT to Los Cruces NM. Our contact person was Rosemary-Michele Greene. Rosemary choose our standard level of service which is a 1 to 5 day pickup window and gave us Saturday 11-19 as the first available date of the 5 day window. Rosemary stressed that scheduling pickup on 11-19 would be prefered. The total cost of this is $1289. There is a down payment of $289 which represents our fee as the broker and the balance of $1000 due on delivery to the carrier COD. Rosemary paid the down payment. This was at 7 pm last night. Then this morning our dispatch department vetted, scheduled, and dispatched the shipment to All Pro Transport Inc for pickup on Saturday 11-19th. At this point our job is done and our fee is earned as the broker. We emailed Rosemary at her New Mexico State University email address the carrier's name, phone, driver's name, phone and the pickup and delivery dates. We then called Rosemary to give her the good news. This was at 6:45 am this morning. Rosemary told us she had been up all night for 7 hours emailing, phoning and texting us to Cancel. Funny thing is we have NO emails from the University or Rosemary. We have no texts either. We asked her to send a copy of the emails and or texts she has. Rosemary has been unable to supply these. Based upon our experience we cannot recommend that anyone do business with New Mexico State University
