I believe the first line of defense in any business is the greeter. If they are friendly and welcoming then you go into the business in a decent mood. When you get an employee that's rude as your walking in the door because you and your husband were coming in for separate transactions and apparently you're supposed to use different cell phones to do this so when you "sign in" for your appointment you both get separate numbers. We only got one number and I told her and it was like the end of the world! She was so rude and said she'll have to get us another number. We went in, did our business with a friendly associate, and went home. Still waiting on that number! They really need to find a new greeter in this location! She's terrible!

So maybe this is just because my last experience with a DMV was in California, but I had a really good experience. I only waited about 20 mins and was at the window for about 20 as well. I was getting a new driver's license and registering a car, so I thought that was pretty good. I'm used to being at the DMV for 2 hours minimum and having the people there talk to you like you're the most annoying idiot on Earth lol, but the lady who helped me was sweet and my kids loved her Smurf collection!!!

I made an appointment as required. Appointment availability were plentiful and I chose a few days out. I showed up to my appointment and was called up immediately. I took care of business in about 15 minutes. Not a problem, not a hassle, not a headache. Never in my life have I had an experience at an mvd office. I'm from another state.

This the newer and smaller office of 2 in Las Cruces for the MVD. If you go at off-peak hours, things move quickly. The staff are pleasant and helpful. I was there today to try to register a new car; I had a very short wait before being called up to the window, where Crystal very Kindly explained to me that she would have to request a copy of the title from the bank that holds the lien on my car. She managed to find the appropriate fax number and sent off a request; she told me that once the title has been received, the office will contact me and I can come back in and finalize the registration. A big thank-you to her for all her help AND for being so patient and pleasant. I always have a good experience at this office; I don't know anything about the main office downtown as I've never been there.
